Ascent should not be barred from filing an action before to CJ EU courts after the 29th March, but what it can claim depends on the exact nature of the action, the legal grounds relied upon, and which legal entity starts the legal action (whether Ascent PLC, Ascent d.o.o., or even Geonergo instead (the JV partner, IIRC).

I'm no oil & gas lawyer, and I do not litigate before the CJ EU so I do not know the full extent of its procedure, so this is all very approximate.

(Even more so as Ascent has a subsidiary incorporated in Slovenia.)

No such automatic loss to sue before EU courts if done by a private party who was doing businesses with an EU-based legal entity within the EU.

EU laws are to be followed by all member states and their official entities when done on EU land.

Colin explicitly said he was considering using EU courts (via RNS IIRC), NOT the Slovenian courts anymore.
