I'm starting to see an end to that mass sell-off. Watch out for shares with clear hammer-shaped candles on the hourly.

There is no proper end-of-September deadline as such, it was a rumour that the deal would probably be closed this month.

And we aren't even in Mid-September yet anyway!!!

When this kind of thing happens, the SP typically goes into freefall as there is a snowball effect (stoplosses trigger sales with make the SP decrease further which triggers even more stoplosses etc.) until PIs see the obvious bargain and jump back in.

There has been no such brutal drop, the decrease has been gradual.

Your understanding looks correct to me.
We just have no evidence of any places shares being forward sold at present, it’s just speculation from some PIs.

I must admit that BMD has made some good calls in the past, however strange his ability to find out such info and sharing it.

Are we due some update tomorrow? I haven't been to see any confirmation of this after looking briefly, but I read that claim on Twitter...

This share has temporarily become a day trader's toy, and funds and other managers scrambled to double-check whether they were right to have bought into it. HL's note of last week has shown how some money managers only do superficial checks before making decisions.
As IIs acknowledge that MW's accusations were largely unfounded, they might increase their stakes (or stop selling?) and this will stop being traded the way it is as there will be more shares in sticky hands.

It's 5pm both to buy AND sell. That rarely happens, presumably MMs are in dire need of shares.

isdeer - you misread the 6 August RNS on two points.

It said:
"The testing operation is planned to take approximately 4-8 weeks and the road closure will remain in place for the duration of these works"
It's 4-8 weeks, and it refers to the (now suspended) flow test, not the competent person's report.

Sujood - as a personal rough rule of thumb, if an oil & gas business:
- does not give a CPR release date approx 2 months after formally announcing that it had /would commission one, or
- if it is more than a week late from the release date it has previously given, or
- if it extends that release date, then it's time
then it's time to reconsider your investment.

See UKOG whose SP is a tenth of its high level of summer 2017, or AAOG whose CPR was delayed twice, then suspended, and whose SP is less than half of its price when the CPR was first promised IIRC.

I am an amateur only, but I'd say, with all the data already available for the prep of the report, anything from 2 weeks to 2 months .

You need to factor in the time to choose somebody to take on the job, briefing etc.

And if more data is needed, that can add several weeks as the oil company has to go back to the field and get more measurements as required.

My very amateurish guess is we should have a report in about a month tops, as I suspect that they already started preparing for a CPR brief after assessing the core sample mentioned on 17 June. Last week's flow testing was more to get top-up data to see whether their suspicions that commercially viable oil was there...

But I am speculating and a real oiler may well say something quite different.
