Impossible to know with reasonable certainty. I got badly burnt once with guesswork behind a very very large transaction on another share, right after a placing had taken place.

Instead, focus on how quickly share are bought or sold straight after such a big transaction is reported, and how much or little that transaction has affected the SP.

Bill, when comparing two quoted companies at the same SP, the more shares there are in a company, the LESS volatile it is, because it means it takes a greater number of shares to be traded to substantially affect the share price. More shares in a company make it more liquid instead, which is a very different concept. Your claim to be a trader (presumably not a failed one) looks even less credible now.

Ocelot - I’m confused: the late reported one was for 34m shares approx, the one that was reported on time (at 15:52ish) was for 5m approx. It seems we are looking at different things. In any case, we agree on the essentials ie they are probably YA conversions being offloaded, and the stability (and then rise) of the SP in spite of those sells shows that the momentum is superb.

This is probably some of the converted CLNs having been offloaded. There was another massive (thought not as big) trade just a minute before (15.52 ish), for a similar SP. Those trades did not make the SP tank, suggesting that the scale of the demand is even bigger than it appeared at the time those trades were executed. It augurs very very well for Monday.

Great to see that this morning's gains have not been sold off.

The next couple of days may be crucial in seeing whether the SP will now break out from the medium-term trading range.

Even the value of that trade was very small - about GBP 600. So it reinforces my belief that it was more of a "symbolic" trade.

An "uncrossing" trade was processed by the MMs after close.

It was not a real trade requested by one really buyer/seller, it was instead a way for MMs to balance their books.

Or, as I personally suspect here, to manipulate the displayed end-of-day SP to prevent a stampede on Monday.
