Why will the placing be "clearly" announced before Xmas?

If no legal action and gas sales don't go below the outgoings, they won't need to do the placing.

A placing price is negotiated based on the SP of the past few days. Asking now what price one has in mind for a placing at some point in the future is therefore practically pointless.

IF the vote is a yes (and I suspect it will be for reasons mentioned before on this BB), the SP is likely to rise because it will means that AST does not have its back against the wall.

The higher SP, if partly or wholly sustained at the time of the placing (if needed), will be the basis to calculate/negotiate the placing.

The voting deadline was 9.30am last Friday except for people holding shares in their names who can vote by hand - and I doubt that there are many shares like that.

So the voting outcome is practically already decided now.

People who are "predicting" doom and gloom now are obviously trying to get the best price possible for the 4-4.30pm today or 8-9.30am tomorrow.
(Unless some of them are on the payroll of Gazprom... =oD )

I do not believe that there is such a thing as a "notice of action" before the CJEU.

Until you file the complaint / action directly with the court, nothing you do before counts (it may count after the above filing to assess the conduct of the parties though - so the RNS could be regarded as a warning).

WHYAST1605 - The RNS of 2-3 weeks ago constitutes such notice.

O&G takeover negotiations are some of the most secretive deals: any leaked info about the identity of the buyer or the price suggested may trigger a bidding war, or expose the buyer's business plans to its competitors.

All those things are done under very strict confidence, CH said that maximum that he could without scuppering Ascent's chances.

I’m sure that raising sufficient funds, if it turns out to be really necessary, will not be a problem. But I suspect it will not be necessary.

SS and co have done a good job since July, it’s now a case of waiting for a takeover since PIs have seem to have lost interest. This share is now one to keep in the bottom drawer.

Thinking about it more, I don’t think that JL wants to risk his career on that matter, especially with an upcoming CJ of EU action on the way. My money is literally on the award of the permit this month and no more placing happening. Of course this is all based on educated guesswork, but I think we will see the end of this mess soon-ish. But I’m certainly in favour of giving the BoD power to issue more shares to prove that CH does mean business.
