I agree there are multiple reasons for China doing that, its why i said in part. Still they have much more debt than they let on, the economy is slowing and they dont have the real estate industry selling so much land to cover the debt. They are in a terrible state, hence why they are selling their usual "made in china" crap globally to try compensate for it. Whilst unloading asbestos and other dangerous materials in their products like childrens toys or in the windmills they unload on the west . China is screwed. If not it means our governments really are criminals.

Japan debt sits at 230% of GDP. And its not imploding. They are now looking to inflate away the debt so i imagine thats probably the upper limit for most countries. And most are away off, that % vs GDP except maybe China who lies about its true debt through its use of Local Government Financing Vehicles.

This is part of the reason why they are buying so much gold, they need to finance 12 trillion yuan for a debt swap. And this will mean the hidden debt is more visible hence they are trying to prop up the yuan. There is still 24 to 34 Trillion to fix later, with a slowing economy. And there is also 3 trillion USD of bad debt on the local banks books which they wont acknowledge and just roll over every year not to break the economy.

China is fooked. I think you are right on the gold holdings as thats one way to show some assurance to BRICS that the currency has some backup.

I actually think GGP will purchase antipa over the next year or so. I know that's not the common view. Was reading up on it over the weekend and seems plausible to me. Minyari is 35km from Telfer and is mainly open pit or shallow so I wouldn't rule it out

Antipa would have to raise billions or take on massive debt to buy GGP so I don't see it happening

Not sure what BS you are reading. Inflation will peak in the July reading and due to the oil price decline baxk to where it was in February and the stronger dollar, inflation will drop for the US so no need for a rate increase. So the dollar will drop naturally hence the gold reaction today.

Its documented as available liquidity so cash plus the available draw dawn facilities = the total liquidity available. A bit like a credit card. If its drawn down then its negative and will incur interest. If its not then its just there waiting to be spent D:)

Freddie. The loans are in 3 parts. 1 is drawn down at 17.8million which sounds like its some form of bank guarantee. The main 2 parts are resolving credit lines which would be used if / when required. So no interest to pay unless they are drawndown.

Other points on inflation, guess we shall see but still most places are 4% inflation or under which isn't a big deal. Oil is back at pre war levels so would possibly be a 1 quater impact.

I was doing some research and they reckon due the oil price collapse, the July reading will be the inflation peak. I reckon the fed where slightly hawkish to get a stronger dollar. So then stronger dollar and lower oil prices then inflation will pass without the need for any rates hikes. I can't see the fed increasing rates considering the debt pile.

Anyway I will top us always. Nothing changed long term.

OMI hasnt released any PFS / so there are no proven reserves / no proven funding. And that will mean either dilution to fund building a mine or giving most rights away to a major player to take over and build the mine so then they can expect a much smaller % of all revenue and profit. Also any major player will only be interested in the APTA prospect because who will give a toss about 220k ounces of gold? Considering you wont be able to dig 100% of the gold - so that becomes less than 150k ounces that the company is able to dig and then sell

Also they currently have 11 million dollars in the bank. Thats enough to drill for a while but thats about it. With a Market Cap of 76 Million.

most large ai companies generate more money than the gdp of most countries. maybe some small companies will go bust but that's like every industry. the rest are on track to generate 1 trillion revenue annually within this next decade.
