disgraceful approach to research and enterprise. I wonder what cost to the tax payers for a mayor and all the entourage that goes with it? I remember a few years ago that a senior member of the council axed 100's of jobs and blamed Government funding. The following week he employed a PA on a salary of 100k defending the decision on work volume. I have to say, it does make me a little cynical when you read how much fund raising is being raised, yet it appears only a small percentage reaches the lab. That is my perception at least but there are many people wanting a share of the pie before it reaches the hungry.

Just looked in here to see progress and was amazed when I read the latest RNS. Wow, seems unbelievable that the local authority refused the 1m payment with the outstanding being negotiated. Does not make any sense at all. Feel frustrated for you guys and very sorry for the employees that could lose their jobs (not to mention the research and experience) What would be the cost to the Council in supporting the company employees if redundancies occur. I sometimes forget why I left the UK, now I remember. 12% interest seems pretty severe too. Socialists at their best. Good luck guys.

FK do you really think that? The RNS in order to manipulate the sp so friends cam buy on the cheap. Would you really want to be invested in a company that does that? I wonder how many pi's you have pulled in here at over 11p based on your constant ramping. Politics has everything to do miners. Click in the news link for LMI, speaks for itself. Investors are reluctant to put money into mining stocks operating in SA. If the companies become too profitable then the unions want more of the lions share. Although SLP are focused on tailings the Transport Union put pressure on the drivers not to deliver the 'dump supply'. I am not deramping this company, in fact the sp is undervalued even with the weakness in commodities atm, I am merely passing on my observations and experience having been invested in the past. I also did quite a bit of research to protect that investment before reluctantly selling. Good luck with your investment, at this price the probability is you will make a profit, whether or not in any recovery in PoP or any buyout.

Sold out of SLP many years ago. Fundamentals were excellent at the time, PoP was good. I did bucket loads of research but no matter how positive things were the sp was weak in comparison to their earnings and the potential. The one thing that could not be ignored was the politics and the adverse affect it was having with institutions. Only my opinion of course but institutions were slowly reducing risk in SA and SLP got caught up in that strategy.

steven49, it was not really a case of buying in or not but about personal circumstances. I sold SLP after the spin off of IRON as I wanted to see how the market viewed the company. I think I sold at about the current sp. SLP was sold because of the S.A. unions stranglehold of miners. Both companies now look attractive at the current sp as the unions wake up to the fact that you cannot bite the hands that feed you. China's stockpiling of iron ore has held back the spot price but that situation cannot continue.

steven49, I suspect the 'red badge pack of wolves' have moved on. Been watching their tactics for a while. One poster who I cannot name gave me a false L2 in an attempt to buy shares in WSG. Needless to say I did not fall into their greedy trap but I suspect a few bought in here earlier in the week. Sold my IRON shares not long after the spin off from SLP. I sincerely hope their decision to move on will be one they will regret in the future. atb leas

Hi mate. just catching up with bb. Been very busy with a building project so happy to sit and wait with my current investments. I live in Lancs but now we have got transport links to the South Coast. IOF are looking good after a recent fall, but have a great business plan. They are expanding their company on profits, which should significantly increas in the next 12 months. Also like the look of SHG. If the world economy slows or the market runs out of steam, PoG may rise. As you know, I am long on IMM and happy to hold. Especially with Torreya working for them. No not really ASH. I enjoyed the power cuts and the TV shutting down at 11pm. Not to mention my dad's 3 day a week shifts. God no. So lucky to have got out from SLP at 17p and JLP at 11p. Cannot understand why I invested in the latter as I already knew of the risks in investing in that country. Not to mention Mugabe. Colin Bird was very convincing with his transformational year presentation. Just did not clarify for what reasons. Pulled the plug on a 'dead cat bounce' All invested in PGM producer's in SA talk about the recovery of spot prices. What they fail to understand is the revenue generated will be going to the miners and not the shareholders. I chose SLP originally over AQP because of their tailing and dump ops, again I failed to recognise the fact that when the miners go on strike deliveries to the smelters also cease. I did post my views on JLP but it was perceived to be 'sour grapes'

Also happy with my current holding but can see more value by adding if it does fall below £2. Holding IOF and of course IMM so any decisions will be based on the overall performance. Oddly enough, very relaxed despite being invested in AIM.

Still has not retraced as much as I thought. Retrace or consolidation, matters not. When investors have banked their profit there should be new blood to take us closer to the 12 month high. Will average up if it falls below £2

Mr moon. Was invested until 18 months ago with SLP. Managed to get out unscathed. I researched the company and saw their potential. However, I did not have take into account the country it was operating in. I began to look into the unions and government and could not see how a private company in the mining industry could make a profit going into 2013. There is a 'shift of wealth' in most African countries and the advantage is with the unions. If the PoP goes up, then so does the miners wages. Margins will always be squeezed. Mines are being mothballed until there is a brighter future. Better the minerals stay in the ground for now. No interest in any mining stock atm, so no motive in posting my thoughts. Good luck leas

Dibs, this was going to rise significantly today or fall on profit taking. Imo the small fall is probably the best scenario. A bit of consolidation bodes well for the next step up. lezzils, not at all. Mainly ii's or employees investing here. Problem I can see is buying in any volume. On the 2 occasions I bought I could not purchase any more than 2500 without having to call my broker. My view is the market is now reaslising the potential and understanding their business model. No large upfront fees etc. regards leas

Yes, me included. More for 'ramping' SNTY after announcing that he had sold. Took me 3 weeks to catch up after some research and bought in at £1.70. I also agree with your comments in relation to IMM. Can you think of one company that has a sp riseof almost 50% in 1 single day and only has a handful of comments posted on it's bb. I have never known it since being a member. Bodes well for the future. No P&D and an indication of how few pi's are invested.

If your still a member on lse then I owe you a beer. I think that now makes us quits after my IMM tip. Cannot be many shares now in the hands of pi's. Maybe a little consolidation before we move toward £3.

Yes, have to agree on all counts. This is def a company to be invested in rather than trading. The spread also stifles the sp. Will add if the sp drops below 150p, although I do not expect it will.
