Glad to see the sp moving north again. The recent 'rest' can only be good moving forward. I see you also had a cheeky little flutter on JLP, candy and kids spring to mind. Hope the chancers and rampers don't become too greedy. I topsliced my gains in SLP to buy in at 10p and I guess you did the same. Smart move.. Platinum is a no brainer at the moment. May get some time over the weekend to do a bit more research in the S.A mining sector. Not risking any profit based on PoP futures. Enjoy your weekend. Feels like the good old days.

A couple of articles posted on the SLP board in relation to Morgan Stanley and possible aquisitions by Rainbow. Not sure what Rainbow's startegy is but they may be interested in mines put on C&M by other producers. An indication of current sentiment and the outlook. Momentum seems to be continuing despite the sp taking a breather. Cannot see much resistance to £1 when the sp is above the 70's

Expected a better rise today after the RNS as there seems a little more appetite for AIM shares. Still off the radar here. Spanish situation getting worse, imo I cannot see any valid objection to the permit. It will be a brave politician that does.

Ormonde Mining plc ("Ormonde" or "the Company") Positive Drilling Results at Peralonso, Salamanca The Board of Ormonde is pleased to report further encouraging assay results from a second stage of drilling on the Peralonso Permit in the Salamanca Province of western Spain, which forms part of the joint venture with Aurum Mining plc. A total of eight holes were drilled to test for near-surface extensions to the gold mineralisation identified in the first drilling (three holes) on the permit carried out in 2012. Results have now been received for six of these eight new holes, and indicate extensions at shallow depths of mineralised structures encountered in the original drilling. saw the same article on kitco, momentum now gaining. All PGM producers are now seeing a recovery in the sp, confidence growing. The only exception being JLP. In any case, PGM mining stock is a must for any portfolio. (for now) Btw I read last week that Mugabe is cutting mining fees in half to encourage foreign investment. Hope the ANC sit up and take note. Looks like the unions have scored an own goal. Yes, strikes not good but it has resulted in many losing their jobs and producers to make cuts at the high end of production. Crazy situation and lessons have been learnt. Cannot see them creating a surplus anymore when there is a global recession.

Great finish to the week staying in the 70p range. Consolidation for a short period should see a smoother ride north in the sp. Workers are pricing themselves out of the labour market. I would expect demand to increase as manufacturers stockpile to make sure they have their supply. Another positive observation is the futures of palladium are expected to rise by 14% this year. AQP should also benefit from a promotion back into the ftse 250 which should see fund managers taking advantage of a steady recovery in the sp. All my opinion of course, good luck to all invested.

About 24 million, still no rush to close yet. Although they are off the highs of 30 million you would expect more to have closed their position. Imo that can only be a good thing as quite a few must be sweating now. Remember, when they close they will have to buy. The momentum is still here, a few trading days of consolidation and another move up. Not invested here and not a ramp, just an observation.

Sorry if my earlier post came across as a subtle ramp for SLP. Does not matter what PGM company you are invested in at this time. All have had a 'good kick in' last year, especially in S.A. I think those invested in this sector should do well this year. A promotion back to the ftse 250 should also help this along. Recent investors may be tempted to top slice or even sell but this still has a lot of legs in it. Also, imo the sp having a breather can only be good in the long term. Eradicates volatility as the sp moves north again.

Have you seen SLP today? Currently up 15%. They have over £15 million in the bank and have the best extraction costs in the PGM producers. They concentrate their efforts on SDO's with ore being supplied from AQP. They have also joint ventures in the northern limb. Harriets wish ect. SLP are remaining very quiet at the moment and have not issued any RNS despite 6% of their shares being traded on Friday. The major shareholders want the company sold off to see a return. AQP are their obvious suitors. Just a thought, but if so the market should react favourably to any T/O. Time will tell.

Producers are mothballing the more expensive mines and concentrating the production on the most profitable ones. Producers that have mines and dump ops are concentrating on the less labour intensive production. The reduction in production is good for all as the deficit is expected to be 400,000oz for the coming year. Imo it would seem that producers in S.A. are self regulating in order to absorb the increased labour costs. The losers being the miners themselves that are losing their jobs. Although China's forecast for this year is much improved, it is the markets in Brazil and India that will see the demand being taken up from the slowdown in Europe. Amplats strategy being announced soon should help the sp for PGM producers. All opinion of course.

From miningmx platinum is likely to have a deficit of 400,000 oz for this year. Link posted on the SLP board for any interested investor. Imo you would have to be foolish not to have a PGM producer in your portfolio, this year should see a very strong recovery in sp. GLA
