Earlier comments in relation to some poster's belief that (or subtle suggestion) that FLU-5 will take years to get to market and the sp will remain static until that point and investors here are gambling their hard earned cash. HVIV's partner in developing compounds is a company called SEEK (JV) The BoD's have all got close ties to one another working within this industry and with much bigger pharma's. They focus more on the invention and development of a drug in order to 'sell on' that science to other companies capable of unlocking commercial value. k. Although they have completed the successful P11b trial it now has a commercial value. P3 is very much derisked as the previous trial was pretty conclusive and the group tested is not likely to change. I cannot see a drugs trial on the under 18's or over 65's being included and certainly not any with underlining health conditions.
The trial has also evidenced that it is effective across several strains of flu and could be advantageous on the outbreak of any pandemic. The vaccine would not have to be developed to combat whatever strain is active.
So imo, on balance and at a 50m MC this is not a gamble when compared to the global market.
My guess is any negotiations are or will be conducted by a guy called Gregory Stoloff the CEO of SEEK group. I posted this in response to a fellow poster's speculation on the ADVFN bb...

Bit of a drama today. Reminds me very much of IMM when they dropped the sp at 125 to 90 and finishing the day at 135. If nothing else breaks the boredom and gives a few pennies to the brokers. They are not undertaking the P3 trials themselves. Although it is trial ready they are in discussions with partners who will take it to P3 without the need of asking investors for funding. The P11b trials were extremely successful which was effective across several strains. Also no need to repeat every 12 months. It is anticipated that it will be effective against any pandemic without the need to react to the strain upon breakout. The business model seems to be develop a compound and sell the technology to bigger pharmas that are experienced in taking drugs to market and have the finance to achieve it. No doubt have the marketing too to maximise the commercial value of any success.

I assume you meant the FLU-5 trial as there are other very promising drugs under development too that are potentially groundbreaking.

Systematica and WorldQuant have both reduced slightly in the last week. Approx 3.5% out on loan with JPM having 1.02%. Looks like these algo trades are dropping the bid, allowing them to return. Whenever the sp rises the gain seems to be eroded away towards the close. With a yield now approaching 8% I would guess they wouldn't want to be holding these as XD approaches. Great income share for those buying at this level.

rumbling, cannot see Brexit causing the sp to come under pressure. Although not merged Asda's trading update has pleased the market which will support the price here. Retail better than expected, all looking good.

Yes, the capital sum is good and puts our current MC into perspective. Not withstanding the outstanding P11b trial. The value going forward is overlooked though. The big bucks come by way of any Royalties. The article mentions the double digit sum. If for example the revenue for a drug is 1bn a year, then the minimum payment is 10%. Also when investors eye up their exit point they could be leaving a special dividend payment behind. The 80% institutional investors will make sure they get their pound of flesh. Lots of it's but's and mate's. However, a possible life changing opportunity for some private investors.

I visited my daughter last week (privilege card at the ready). Visited the Hoghton Arms. Now a Rotisserie. (microwave redundant). Have to say, the food was good, reasonably priced with the usual service you get from young inexperienced staff. The pub was busy and had to wait to be seated. Regardless of food the atmosphere was good with bar staff having a constant queue. The other MARS pub nearby which used to be my local, the Cavendish Arms is always busy at the bar when open but food is average and staff well below average. However, they do not accept my card so my allegiance has now been switched when back in the NW

With a vaccine across 2 strains and without the need to repeat every year and a 86% effectiveness then you can see the value of a successful P3 trial. Companies must be lining up for discussions..

Jimzi, have you noticed that for the last couple of trading days trades have been reported late by over a day. 270k (in total) reported on the 14/08 which were time stamped the previous day and again today 75k that were traded yesterday. Both appear to be sells but were above the bid at the time. Very misleading.

Time will tell Paul. One thing for sure it is looking oversold, great div which is easily covered so any short selling pressure will reverse at some point. On a personal note, I have started to sell some of my shares in favour of cash. Just sold my BT holding at a good profit so will invest my dividend here or at MARS.

wow Paul, some holding that. Does that make you a significant shareholder? If so, could you 'tip me the wink' if there is an approach from a third party. Hope you have averaged down. I'm not so certain that a low baller of a bid would come in. The company is generating cash, all the stores are profitable and their vets business is bedding in and likely to bring in good revenue going forward.

Jimzi, maybe they did. However, a risky strategy. MTFB mislead shareholders with their NDA. Lumsden informing them that it will be 'by the end of the Q1 2018. Their current share price is still below prior to Rev-2. I suppose looking at the bigger picture LTH's will reap the rewards when it is taken to market.

Thanks Mark. Confirms that there is nothing sinister in the NIH result not being published. A degree of naivety from the BoD's giving timescales. Like I posted earlier today, I do think the delay is a blessing in disguise and has allowed the sp to consolidate and give us a strong support.

Caitlin, I think you were also predicting 190's for BT. At the time I bought 204 and sold Xd at 229. Not saying BT won't fall to below 200 or BP to 500 but you have to go with the trends sometimes. I originally bought in BP in March as analysts became bullish on the PoO and locked in my profit at 591. My view since selling was the PoO will fallback and I hoped for a re entry at 550. The political situation has changed now with worries over Turkey and European borrowing that may be the catalyst for a market correction. I will now wait and see what happens over the next few weeks until buyers return from their hols.
If you do get your 500 then I will be a very happy man but I suspect that other FTSE companies will have lost value too. A market correction is needed and overdue and has probably been delayed due to Trump's style of leadership so sitting on cash may be the saver strategy to adopt for now.

I don't see the NIH being factored in the sp. They are the one's that rubber stamp the P11b trials or challenge them. It is likely that the results are agreed but not nailed on. Secondly, the number of shares in public hands is about 14m (conservative estimate) and many of those will not get traded on the results RNS because bio type of investor are usually more informed. They will know that any deal is probably going to be announced post NIH. The P3 trial is not likely to differ much from P11b as I cannot see the elderly or those with underlining medical conditions being included. 78m is pocket money to the large pharmas, especially for a blockbuster drug that could generate huge revenues. 15% is the industry average for any royalties so we could be looking at a handsome return.
