Buys v sells is not always indicative of sp direction. It is about supply and demand. With the sp moving up and down in such a small band then for most of the trades cannot be determined.

Looks like the pi is well informed here. I think it's safe to say everyone is aware that news is overdue and resisting the temptation to sell. Frustration is amplified when you see other shares on your watch list increasing in value. It is also safe to say that if no news was expected then this would have drifted down significantly by now based on that small free float being traded. The MC has increased after a brief period of being at an all time low. However, it has fallen significantly from the all time highs. The value of this company is not just in FLU-5 but there is no denying that compound has caught the investors imagination. No pain, no gain springs to mind.

moneyg, have to agree. I have some divs due in the next month so will use the funds to top up here. The company strategy looks ok, fundamentals good. After the recent market update I am pretty relaxed about the falling sp and will take advantage when I can. You never know, I may be thanking those taking short positions in 12 months time.

If it was then the recent associated director buy was a stupid investment. If they were struggling to meet expectations then you would think they would delay the purchase until after the results.
If you compare PETS chart from Jan 17 to the shorttracker chart over the same period you can see a remarkable similarity. A total mirror image. Crazy that we allow this practice to continue, no different to insider trading.
For those hoping that they get burnt returning them on the back of good news then I doubt it very much. The rise back will be as controlled as the drop.

The whole sector is out of favour with the city. Any capacity for growth is limited. That said, it is a 'steady eddie' and relatively defensive. Most are trading at a discount now. Although only invested for a few weeks I have been looking at MARS for several months. I think their 'build programme' will give them an opportunity to beat sector growth expectations. I also think the food side of the business will improve as incomes get squeezed.
One dry summer is not going to define the sector. The last 40 years has seen a huge change on how people spend their leisure time, most towns and cities now have a 'café culture' How we socialise in our homes have changed too.
Diageo beat expectations recently, largely supported by the 'Gin culture' which is on trend.

The term 'Be careful what you wish for springs to mind! Recently I was involved in a development in the NW of England. A large building company wanted to further develop the land with Exec type houses. Of course the plan was rejected (several times) and opposed by the local MP. They cited over capacity, poor local infrastructure and an area of natural beauty. The reality was the wealthy residents wanted to 'keep it select'.
The housebuilder reassured them that there were only going to be 50 houses of 5 bedroom homes. Still the council opposed the development and after spending many thousands of the tax payers money it was referred to central government.
The planning was scrutinised and eventually passed. However, the government insisted that the plans be revised and the exec houses be substituted with affordable housing. Not only that the 'green space' set aside could be built on too increasing capacity to 190 homes.
Three years later, the houses were bought by Housing Associations, the original Exec houses have dropped in value and crime has increased significantly.
Whatever the outcome next week the oil will be distracted. Whether it is on the terms of the local council or the government. I know which I would prefer.

Opinion only but looks like a manufactured drop. 9am City Boys dropped the sp again. Bots suppressing the price as shares are returned. Why would institution''s increase their holdings knowing that it is so heavily shorted? Manipulation, plain and simple. Fundamentals are sound here. So reflects margins being squeezed, expansion and staff wages. Only reason this is being shorted is because they can.

Moniman, tbh I have no idea. Invesco or Woodford will not exceed 29%. The NIH is overdue so investors are getting bored and twitchy. He must be happy nibbling away on the back of the current sentiment. I think the company is taking the right direction by informing shareholders that they don't intend taking FLU-5 to stage 3 themselves. In effect they have made P11b commercial. Clearly that is why institutional investors have 80% of the voting rights. They control the company without having to cross the threshold.

Perhaps not invested or sold at a loss after the herd arrived. Rather than look at themselves in the mirror they blame the company. Who knows. I'm sat on a 200% loss in ANGS but it was my choice to invest. No one to blame. Such is life.

IMM starting to look tempting again. Any positive news 'coming out of the blue' should see a scramble to buy. despite the P3 140 setback a MC of 26m make them very attractive to other bio's. Their Nucant and Peptide platforms have value which is often overlooked here. I would imagine a lot of investors sat on the sidelines atm.

No worries ian, good to share views and opinions. Noticed another drinks company Diageo posting good figures helped by the weather. MARs current MC is laughable at the moment, the entire company assets must be worth more. Get my BP and BT divs soon which I will recycle here.

Bertie, I thought the same. Heading gets the readers attention but it also gives us a clue on why he has upped his investment here. This of course got my attention...

I can only guess that the poor performance so far in the Patient Trust has made his team more focused on their due dilligence investing here. Invesco being a significant investor here too makes you wonder if that is a coincidence or 'The Old Boys Network' playing it's part.
