ianian, if you read back a couple of days, I was asked to look over a company by a fellow MARS investor. Manners and interest prompted my response.

sorry guys O/T.. re GAN. Had a look and can see the attraction. However, assets are technology based and are open to competition. My concern would be some of the bigger players seeing the opportunity to squeeze them out of the market as the sector grows. Came across this link in the Daily Mail.

In the short term I think the potential is there as the gambling platform is recognised and favoured More States will relax the law but for me there is too much risk. The CEO selling some of his shares recently does not give me any confidence although there may have been good financial reasons. Jersey, I also live outside of the UK near Morlaix Saint Pol de Leon. That said I split my time up between there and UK usually family and football. My investments and pension are in the UK. I ISA wrap yielding companies in order to draw an income. Tbh, I have been extremely lucky here as I saw it as a long-term recovery play after the CEO stepped down. There was then a further sell off to a point that their assets were worth more than the MC. I am surprised not more picked up on that. I was invested in IMM for 12 years and sold out prior to P3. What is attractive here is the direction the company is taking. The realisation that taking FLU-5 through to market is better served by another. As you point out, the possibility of this becoming a 'cash cow'

Jersey. Great post. I suspect that a few pi's invested here are more comfortable trading rather than 'investing time' Even they can see the potential return in a relatively short period of time. Probably frustrated as hell for those waiting for the NIH result wanting to free up cash. My average here is 19p so my cushion is pretty comfortable. Unfortunately not ISA wrapped but happy to hold for the long-term.

Morning guys, Although Woodford now has 27.02%, Invesco are still the majority shareholder. Almost on a parity now. My point being that it's not just Woodford and his team that are confident in achieving a return on their investment.

Bamps, nothing better than a brewery trip. Before retirement I often visited a few in the NW of England. A good friend of mine has a bottling business and has recently opened up a warehouse at the weekends which has a similar feel. Our local MP normally frequents on a Friday.

O/T I did have a look at GAN on the announcement of US deregulation. I noticed a few 'timely' holdings RNS's prior to news on NJ and Pens. The outlook is certainly rosy on the face of it. Can see them as a T/O target in the near future as the Yanks like to keep it in the family. I think online gambling will be a no no in certain states but certainly a growing market. May have a look at the fundamentals over the weekend. The CEO reducing last week was a strange move though. Especially when the US market is opening to them.

Learning, that is how I see things and why I invested a couple of months ago. No mention of a new CEO but perhaps any news on that front may help the sp along.

Interesting comment too. Perhaps the regulators have now woken up to the fact that having their foot on the company's neck has strangled investment and growth. The realisation that they cannot have it both ways!

HH was the extra debt not for the pension obligations.. I'm sure if you have the time to trawl through the RNS's it has been covered. I think the market already knew the numbers, it is the outlook that seems to be the focus.

Holding now stands at 27.02%. Great example of how pi's get 'screwed over' by institutional investors. Since the FLU-5 update he has accumulated a further 12%. Free float continues to reduce.

My view fwiw, is the trial was floored from the start. The reduction on the SLEDAI score was too much to expect. 12 months for long suffering patients was not long enough. A reduction of 3 is life changing for those suffering.

Hi Bamps. in relation to the food side of the business I agree to a certain extent. However, I do feel as incomes get squeezed more people will look at brands such as Marstons. One criticism I have and this includes all their competitors are the summer menus. They lack alternatives from the typical 'pub grub' foods. This weather was predicted to last throughout the summer months, clearly they did not take advantage.
Sentiment has been pretty poor for a long while towards all brewers but I think MARS have a great range of ales and the fundamentals are sound.

T2B, seems like it is only Barclays with a low target. Of course that may change with yesterdays TA.

Would agree to a certain extent but I think the MC reflected the difficult trading environment of all pubs. GNK was a good 'barometer on today's trading update. It is a long-term hold for me so not overly concerned.
