GasP, I think the standard and quality of their food is varied throughout their portfolio. I have to say the establishments near to my family in Lancs have been great value for money. Staff a little young and inexperienced which is a clear indication of keeping costs down. I don't expect 'silver service' or Michelin Star food. My own view is a squeeze on incomes will attract famalies/punters that wouldn't ordinarily eat there but still wanting a family meal out.
From memory there was a very small improvement in food sales over the hot weather, world cup period that has outperformed the Restaurant Group's performance over the same period so I don't think the food side of the business is not all bad.

If I was Peter Pritchard then I would be tempted to throw out a 'random' statement on how well the Vets side of the business is doing (on the back of figures) and put them under pressure to close. T2B, from memory it skipped past a pound pretty easily to about 105. Timeframe for the shorts to close is getting smaller. Positivity going towards the Christmas period and ex dividend should see the sp push towards your expectations.

Patience has always been the hardest part of investing. The sp could rerate significantly on positive news so 'the drip drip' feeling that many get has to be ignored. The recent sp performance has been to the benefit of Woodford. From past experience timeframes have always been dubious when it comes to bio's but the rewards can often be above pi's expectations if they are prepared to be patient. No doubt the vast majority of pi's are waiting for the expected RNS and are hoping that they are ahead of the queue when the stampede to exit occurs. Come back in 12 months and see if that decision was the right one.

I see that WorldQuant and Systematica have reduced their short position this month. The majority are now sitting above the 0.5% range. Nicely poised to close on the back of any positive news. Not sure at the price they opened their position but you would guess the recent movement is eating away at their handsome return.

mishmos, you would think the sp would strengthen on the back of concerns over world politics. May be a case of money drifting out of the markets and BP for now getting caught up in that sentiment. A lot of analysts predictions on BP is based on the PoO at $55.
