It is a psychological phenomenon that, in this interminable delay, the invested will latch onto the next event, however tenuously linked to the application, as the event which will be a game changer.
These events have come and gone over the years. The Swedish election is simply the latest. Nothing has materially changed a thing. An application has been lodged into a 3-9 month process. 66 months later, no indication at all of a conclusion.
You couldn’t ask for a better clue as to what is going on here? Why do I have to spell it out?

I would like to know what evidence anyone has that the formation of the new government will trigger an imminent injection of urgency into the company’s application. Why and how?
Reading back through the posts re the election during my absence in Italy invests an extraordinary level of significance of the elections on the comapny’s situation.
I don’t buy this at all. Yes, this application has been screwed by politics, but not party politics. Sweden does not support a foreign owner of a potential major national asset.
As I have said so often, no decision keeps the Swedes the right side of the law. Unless Kurt goes legal, this will not be resolved.

Once the central government is finally settled, the CAB will be a different set of people with new agendas. Clearly, they will want to reopen their input into this “process” as will the MI. Add that to the probable new enterprise and innovation ministerial appointment, and the now dog eared and dusty application file will start the merry go round all over again.
No way will what has been considered hitherto be taken into account.
This will run and run.
I stand by my prediction of 3p by Christmas when the last placing occurred and it was clear the previous government had shoved the file in the bottom drawer.
Selling at a loss now is preferable to selling at a much higher loss in the next few weeks.

I would recommend Tuesday nights at the Grosvenor hotel on Robin Hood’s Bay.
Steve Phillips band ( ex Notting Hillbillies ) plays almost every Tuesday. Top food and real ales. Accommodation and a fine location.

Played the usual places around Leeds - Brudenell, Joseph’s Well etc. Even did a mini tour of Scotland. Split after A levels. My son plays acoustic guitar for his own amusement now. Has written some decent songs. Have taken him to Gabriel gigs, which he loved. He has introduced me to some stuff I wouldn’t otherwise have noticed - Cocorosie, Phoebe Bridgers, Aurora, Steam Powere Giraffe ( honeybee ) plus loads more.
A mate of his plays in the Joe Broughton conservatoire folk ensemble, who are outstanding.
Saw Wild Willy Barrett’s French Connection at Kettlewell village hall in the summer. Fabulous musicians. Remember him with John Otway? Hey baby that’s really free - ha ha.
Can’t beat live music.

At Fibbers. My son’s band played there about 2005. Can’t see the full show fitting in there unless it’s been extended since I was last there.

This lass has a better voice than Kate Bush now. Very impressive. And what an imaginative staging, effects and choreography. The string players added some texture and the sax player is outstanding. All that for 12 quid...

Ours is possibly the first generation to grow old with our musical heroes, who are still in demand. Given the excesses enjoyed in the 60s and 70s, some voices have fared better than others.
My father was a massive Sinatra fan. In the early 80s, I offered to take him to the RAH, I think it was, to see him, possibly for the last time. He said no, which, at the time, I could not understand. I do now.
I am a huge Kate Bush fan, but chose not to attend the 2014 gigs for the same reason. Having bought the CDs, I’m glad I didn’t. Having listened to the ninth wave, wincing at several points, I hurriedly dug our my original studio version and played it through, just to make sure it is still as astounding as I thought. It is.

Forgot to say, I will also be seeing Procol Harum in Berlin on the 16th. Gary Brooker’s voice is still really strong, unlike Ian Anderson. When I saw Tull last December, he had to get Joe Elliott ( Def Leppard ) to do some of the most challenging vocals, as his voice is gone. Still magnificent on the flute, though...

I’ve seen them a number of times over the past 12 or so years. Absolutely superb. Very authentic, musically, as well as theatrically. I saw Genesis with Gabriel 4 times ( 72-75 ), and although there is only one PG, this is as good as it gets.
First time, I was sceptical, but soon realised the band are dedicated and very talented musicians. Regenesis are worth seeing as well. Possibly musically superior to TMB, but they don’t replicate any of the stage sets.

All that has gone before matters little now.
The government were always in charge of this, which makes the decision, or lack of, 100% political.
The involvement of all the other agencies and bit players was, in my view, all about pretending to engage in the process.
I’m off to Italy for a month later today, It will be a relief to many that I won’t be posting, so all the happy clappers can keep telling each other the permit is due any minute, without any contradiction.
It is my honest view that Kallak and BEM aren’t going to prosper together. The mine is for another time. Not ours.
