Here is the perversity of Swedish bureaucracy at work. Whilst they have sideline the Sweden Democrats who polled almost 18% of the votes last September, they are capricious enough to weigh the opinions of the Sami and the Greens far more highly.
In sweden’s case, in my view, it is because their politicians are a particularly weak bunch who would rather chew off their own arms rather than court conflict with traditional, old world values.
They will come a cropper in a dramatic fashion, and very soon.

The published process died long ago.
This is now a stand off between the government and the company, with onlookers ( Sami and Greens ) wielding far too much influence, when the law could and should have decided it in 2015.

Show me your evidence.

What is reasonable or unreasonable passes the swedes by. As long as they make no decision, they are calling KB’s bluff.
I don’t believe he has the bottle to do a damned thing come the end of June when no decision is made. It is just a few short weeks away now. I have zero expectation of a decision. It will be interesting to hear what KB says then.
My guess he will push the Finland and Kosovo angle, both of which are side shows, in my opinion.
As usual, it is left to investors conjecture as the swedes remain implacable in their silent indecision.

The majority of MPs on both sides are remainders, so we already have cross party agreement. The current talks are another step towards remaining in the EU.

The Swedish prosecutors are about to consider whether to reopen the case against him for alleged rape.
He will be long dead before any conclusions are reached. The swedes can’t even decide why they might want to revisit the evidence.

There will be no priority given to long-standing applications. The process will be rebooted, as if the past six years never happened.

The all pervading fear of upsetting the Sami and the greens has spawned this barmy idea. It is clear to me that this is simply a goalpost moving charade, which is designed to get the government off the hook for the past six years of wilful incompetence.
They are not proposing changes to the laws pertaining to mining applications which will continue to be the final arbiter.
Who remembers Damberg’s stating the law would be enough to decide the application?
This is another shameful delaying tactic.
When will Kurt wake up to this chicanery?

An orchestra is a group of talented individuals gathered to achieve a common, identifiable purpose. They must remain faithful to the score, then execute and deliver an outcome which meets or exceeds expectations in a given timescale.

Well, you didn’t answer the question. The respect you have for Kurt must be based on what he says, as he has not achieved the single outstanding objective he inherited when he took over. He has said a decision should come before summer. If it does not, are you saying your investment matters so little to you, you will simply shrug your shoulders and continue to unquestioningly support Kurt?
Surely not. You have endured countless “deadlines” now over many years. Nothing ever progresses.

Commanding respect and achieving what is required of a CEO are two entirely different things. The latter is all that matters in reality. He could be the most objectionable individual who ever drew breath as far as I am concerned. If he extracted a yes from the government it would be irrelevant.

It has been unreasonable for over 3 years. What Kurt believes to be reasonable at this late hour won’t even register.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the government expected BEM to resubmit the application to the one stop shop.
If I had been this ineffective in my profession, I would fully expect and deserve the boot...
