Can't disagree with many views expressed. You pays your money you takes your chance. Simple as, really. I respect any decision to buy or sell especially if profits are taken off the table. Its a judgement call for the individual to make.
AdamsRib, - I understand the point you make but Directors liabilities go much wider than that and Directors can be held legally responsible for a Companys legal and regulatory failings. This is not to mention Pensions, where a Director may be a Trustee etc:
There can also be Breaches of Regulatory Law such as H&S, Employment Law etc: where the Company and Director can be jointly and severally liable.
Directors can also be guilty of fraud or "connivance" whereby financial penalties and Disqualification as a Director can arise. Thankfully, these are not a regular occurrence due mainly to Directors code of conduct. However, they do exist and Insider dealing would bring penalties and maybe a class action by investors.
Hence why small companies can be a minefield for experienced NED's to put their reputations on the line.
