Can you put me down for June 2nd (2021).
No great reasoning for this date, just the expectation that we'll hear something significant before the next AGM, and the peculiar alignment of specific numbers that always seem to come good for me. Saying that, Nostradamus didn't get everything right :-)

BOD with a proven and consistent record of doing what they say they will do, who are officially stating that a "significant" divi is on the cards with the selling of assets to an identified purchaser. :-)
When reading of other "facts" posted on here, it's always best to regard the posters history. It helps to add, or not, a level of credence to what is posted!

The bod have brought LTHs huge value, not just based on the potential sale, but the development of assets and securing of further huge potential beyond the established assets. I can see why traders would be grizzling, but for investors this is amazing.
Wish there were a few more of these out there.

Have to agree with you Aspen. The RNS, as i read it, implied interest in purchasing the majority of the asset, i.e. over 75%. I guess the unknown for me is, how much of the proceeds of sale are retained for the rosgeo jv, as this figure needs deducting forom total sale price. What the divi will be, who knows? But i'll be surpirised if its in the 25 to 50p range, if we've sold most of the asset.

I got my wife to set one up and then bought £20k value each year. Think it's better to buy upfront and then sell from your trade account as it minimises the risk of getting locked out. I bought my wifes first shares the day before trading was frozen last year. :-) :-) :-)

I don't think people are talking like a deal is done. The reason people are talking about tax is to ensure "if" a dividend is received, we don't get caught out with an unneccesarily large tax bill. It's just forward planning for differing eventualities. Personally, i dream of a complete sale :-)

That's exactly it Aspen. It seems a more tax efficient approach. I've got a significant holding outside of the ISA.

I'm just hoping there's enough demand to offload before the divi payout.
I guess this could be abused by those wanting to buy in as cheap as possible, knowing there are rafts of investors looking to offload to minimise tax exposure. Not sure what the "additional rat" at 38.1% represents, but i'm not at all happy with being hammered by the 32.5% either!

Excuse my ignorance. If the proceeds received from a dividend outside of any tax protection are immediately reinvested, will this avoid the tax imlpication of simply realising the windfall?

In the eyes of some, the company are liars (rosgeo, banks and lawyers either complicit or have had the wool pulled over their eyes by the darstardly bod), the s.p. should be a tenth of what it currently is, there will never be a sale.
With that analysis, those wise ones should sell now, they'll make an absolute killing.
I'll hold onto my shares and suffer the consequences, whilst "those in the know"make a killing by selling now.
