RE: Koders19 Nov 2022 09:20
Asslan, for FS sake do some reading before coming up with such finger in the air rubbish comments.
Sometimes a feasibility study and everything within remains the same, other times it does not. It is a process which on average takes 6 years, therefore at the time just before final funding, which includes the amount needed to build the plant and a final description of the way forward, finalisation of processing is decided, tweaks if you like, they call it optimization. At the start of the process it is more about quantifying the total resource, the pre finance feasibility is about asset worth and justifying finance, the final tweak or optimization is about mining at the most financially efficient level, the most profitable. Nothing to do with anyone dictating anything from a company providing the finance, Kodals optimisation will however dictate the amount of final capital required to build the plant and infrastructure and will finalize the cost per tonne of extraction and transport off site.
There is so much on the net about this it beggars belief that anyone should be making some dumb comment.
All of the competent people(in mining regulation speak) who all do their processes and then the idea at the end that anyone providing the finance override ideas and dictate a different plant is stupid.
In fact if anyone bothered to listen to Bernie properly he indicated possible optimization earlier this year in one of the q&a or presentations. He said a company is formulating some ideas.
You are completely inventing that scenario asllan.
That Ethiopian gold mine is or was optimising their plant in October it is everywhere. It also demonstrates global standardisation as Ethiopia obviously is not Mali.
Staggering that people who say they are investors don't read up on this stuff and see optimization as a concern, but in another share a completely off track pilot plant, which indicates an inability to raise funding through NPV for a full production plant. That share now pivots on the success or failure of the pilot plant.
Because mining has an environmental impact then Kodal have to apply for the optimisation changes, quantities of water may be different etc, bunding may have to be different etc, so these will be included too.
Do some reading. If you aren't reading up, think twice about investing.
