Mica removed in that process. If it had been done last year they would have known what was in there before the plant arrived.

Initially I wondered if that was the reason for Leo's suspension.

But then the DSO RNS cleared that one up.

Bean, if Leo Lithium's suspension regarding ore is due to the proposed changes to the mining code and if this is out for consultation and if this takes as long as their new extension date and or Kodal has not completed the Mammoth task they are undertaking the it is probable that there will be an extension.

If Kodal has completed everything and there is a mining code consultation period, then it could complete as soon as the consultation period ends and the paperwork is all updated if required.

The reporting is so poor nobody can be certain, if you read the B2gold article link below you could be forgiven for thinking existing contracts are not affected - but I doubt that.

I didn't know if it was the disagreement or a share distribution related to them not proceeding.

However shortly afterwards an RNS specified a communication regarding ore.

Of course being Africa - you never know.

Elcobble, reading the B2gold article from one of the few trusted mining journalists, I think the new mining code is just proposed and is out for wider consultation through the mining companies.

However this time China is here and Ganfeng has western contracts. Wider discussions may not be as quick as they previously were for the Mali government.

Ganfengs contracts are with the West which is helpful.

One article said a large Canadian mining company was in discussions with the government, not named but Barrick springs to mind, another article says Barrick have no issues.

Marcus you do not know that Stark's plant is not fit for purpose.

Stark resolve mining issues with plant modules, that is their business which they have built up very successfully, they are smart and experienced.

Yet they turned up day one with the wrong plant configuration on site, right from from day one, the scanner type for the first row of scanners was even incorrect.

You seem convinced all of that is Stark's fault.

I do not. They are too experienced at resolving issues on existing operations.

I don't believe that Stark had accurate data about the material entering the plant, if they did for a start their first row of scanners would be as they are now. Never mind the magnetic roller issue and so on.

So the big question is, is the data from the small claims licence flawed and the pay dirt is not of good quality?

Or can Stark, even after receiving duff data, rescue the situation?

George is making out he is the white knight, a year or two down the road we might hear different when Stark is out of the contract.

Merc, I am not so certain that you are correct, if everything was almost completed then possibly it would have been a good idea to hold back, but in my opinion that would only be if it was ready to release, I think Kodals work is a mammoth task and may require a further extension. But I am guessing like everyone else.

The incorrect press releases about the mining code are very annoying. A minister late July saying these have not been put before ministers for approval, a number of press outlets saying that they went into force on the 7th or 8th of August.

Looking at past alterations what could have happened is they were approved in principle on the 7th August and released to the mining companies for their input, on which Leo Lithium who had intended shipping ore before producing Spodumene saw a change which would impact their ore shipments and suspended trading. Which could relate to tax as some of their investors speculated, some tax incentives are being removed.

Leo Lithium's announcement which I expected today but seems to be going down to the wire on Wednesday may give us all an insight.

But updates to mining codes happen in most countries every two years or so, nothing new.
