Nobody is saying that there will be a divi announcement tomorrow. We know that has been deferred for a decision in August.

The debate is on whether the ex-dividend date of the 5th May will be the date which applies to that deferred decision.

Can you pop up the details of those two trades please just so we can see the Bid and Offers at the time.

I know all about ex-dividend adjustments having received many but the point being missed is that this is the FY dividend for the previous year and teh shareholders, ex-div date being the 5th May and payable to those holders on the register at that date. The decision on payment has been postponed but I see nowhere any postponement of the ex-dividend date.

Logic says that those that would have been entitled to it after that date would be the ones who receive it.

I'm holding anyway so it is an irrelevance for me but I will not be surprised if in August if they decide to pay, that it is backdated to those on the register when it would have been paid.

However the decision was to postpone what is meant to be the FY dividend and with its stated ex-dividend date of the 5th May.

Say we get to August when they intend reviewing the postponement alongside what would be the next Interim dividend decision then ask yourself who would be the most appropriate receipients? Those who couldn't receive it due to sanctions on the 5th May Ex-divi date, or those who simply buy in on the eve of any combined FY(postponed) and next Interim combined divi date (say war being over).

It's an academic point if you are holding throughout in any case, but you might find yourself subject to legitimate litigation. Probably worth clarifying.

My understanding is that as it pertains to the FY the ex-dividend date is applicable and that the postponement referred to any decision to make that payment (or any revised sum).

The decision on paying the dividend has been deferred - but not the ex-dividend date. So in theory of you are holding as of ex-dividend date then you should qualify for whatever is decided in August. Plus point is that as there is no payment now no adjustment to be made.

So a banked potential dividend without any ex-dividend hit.

Peace talks prevailing or Putin ousted you may imho thank yourself for that decision.

They do that sometimes when the price gets lowered. It is probably to fill a by order and it is done to deter you. You normally find if you keep trying and trying to get a quote then you eventually get one. Hesitate also and you normally miss it.

Then maybe sit and content yourself then BSR. Most care not how this conflict is resolved so long as it does and with many more lives preserved as opposed to lost in what is a folly conflict.

Well if we get a coup emerging and a replacement that will bring a swift end to the war then this share price will multiply in no time.

Not sure this one is necessarily militarily connected but the Express seem to have picked up on the number of these mysterious fires now and are openly talking about the need for a "fire reporter"

Keep the focus on this one as the Russians seek to establish their land bridge and also the Turkish efforts at Peace this week with Erdogan's phone call / visit with Putin. I suspect that both may well blend into each other.
