It looks like Mortal Kombat had a strong weekend folks and shaded Demon Slayer at the Box Office, (although the weekend still has another day to go). Beats what was expected.

The real winners should be the cinemas who were selling both films.

Excellent news that maddanus69 because we are showing both of them.

I believe it's the Oscars tonight also so that should hopefully make a few of the lesser budget ones shine with nominations and the coveted award itself, Nomadland being one.

If we get the green light to reopen on the 17th May then there should be a veritable feast of films showing when we do so:

17th May in the UK.

Godzilla versus Kong
Mortal Kombat
Dragon Slayer
Tom and Jerry
Nomadland (Oscar nominated and Opening on the 17th May as luck would have it)

And that should just about see us through nicely to

28th May 2021 – Cruella (Disney) and coinciding with the BH weekend and half-term.

I daren't say just in cas eit changes again but MK is back to a sell out all bar two showings today and even the 2 IMax showings are sold out.

Good point well made FI. Additionally some will turn up on the day and book using the touchscreens in the cinema. We'll hopefully get a better run down after the weekend. I was kind of using it only as a comparitor between MK and DS.

My eyes must be deceiving me. Now changed to 4.

Mortal Kombat 2D at Sacramento is now all showings full for today except 2. Demon Slayer also with full cinemas. I wouldn't like to call who wins the battle of the Box Office.

We benefit from both so it should have been a really good weekend for those Regal cinemas that are now reopened.

LTHCine Mortal Kombat is one of my list of at least 8 that I will be going to see off the present film slate for this year. Awesome looking action packed film and far better in Imax than living room tv.

I hinted yesterday with the Regal - Delta Shores cinema in Sacramento that Demon Slayer might give Mortal Kombat a run for its money as yesterday most of the show times on both were greying out - meaning capacity reached. Demon Slayer marginally pipping Mortal Kombat at that movie theatre.

I care not what wins the box office battle between the two as we are showing both of them - and one you casn watch when it premiers the other you can catch in the theatrical window. Those two along with a full selection of others including Godzilla v Kong and the new Tom and Jerry film.

Please don't forget the power of kids as customers for they been cooped up indoor for months on end and normally they take an adult or the family along with them and can look for matinee and early evening performances as well as the evening ones.

And CINE have these all to show in the UK when reopening comes and in all the other reopening US cinemas.

As stated 54 more today and opening into Dragon Slayer and Mortal Kombat.

I found it amusing that the only thing that needs to be kept on in Las Vegas is the mask. 80% capacity coming though is not to be sniffed at. 100% for casinos in Nevada. Things heading the in the right direction.

You should be enjoying the sun like the rest of us. Lots of films out there right now to watch and that is only going to grow.

For some reason Dragon Slayer seems really popular. Yes Godzilla v Kong, Mortal Kombat and I've even seem capacity full on Tom and Jerry.

I think we'll do more than alright and confidence seems far higher than last time and will only build further.

When we get to £2.00 they will still be sat close to 7.2%. They are a bit like Directors holdings but in reverse. If Directors buy its a vote of confidence and sells are viewed negatively. Same with short positions to start to close them up boosts confidence and sentiment and makes it more difficult for the others.

It's a myopic view though to concentrate on these for there can be many sat there with less than 0.5% that can close up daily and that fly under the radar and that you never know about.

Just as there can be numerous holdings sat at just under 3% and not triggering any thresholds for notification, so again flying under the radar.

No idea what the capacity of the cinemas are but Demon Slayer the Movie seems to be popular as its greyed out and capacity met on quite a few showings at Regal Delta Shores in Scaramento. Friday, Sat and Sunday. Mortal Kombat has a few capacity met as well although you'd be expecting it to be showing in the bigger multiplex screens.

Not sad enough to look at them all. One at random will do for now. Sacrimento today and its one of todays reopenings.

They paid them a little respect today for the deal just done, but probably nowehere near enough imho

Its the rights over 5.8% that they own. 1% actual stock and financial instruments amounting to the rest. I'd say they are "long" the rest. Reaction after the RNS says its going up further for them to profit handsomely.

Bang on time for the start of the ramp up in reopenings.

We are at the point many have waited over a year for - vaccine backed reopenings and a full slate of movies.

Sell though if you like. I'm sure there will be plenty others picking them up from here on in.
