Yes you are right the sugar business was sold back in 2010 and the name is licensed to the American company to still use it. Tate & Lyle Plc has only been involved in sugar reduction and healthy ingredients ever since.

It sure did well today Boyobach, tho it retreated a bit towards the end. Let’s see how the follow ups go now, because Stock price behaviour is really important to make an informed decision tbh. My short term target to lookout is still 1486, even though it fell short of it last week so we shall if it makes it and closes above b4 I can dream of seeing £15 again.

I’ll take High Lows over Lower Lows anytime, so we shall see where it ends up

Thank you Boyobach that’s interesting points about the gaps (particularly the gap up made on the results day from prev day closing price on the chart) though the technicals confuse me but I like your charts they give me a visual representation of the current trend which to me is still in upward trend (especially your recent one on Thur from last year).

So I’m gonna sit tight and hold until something catastrophic happens to change it or my target price to take profit is met. I don’t focus on short term price fluctuations but the Stock price behaviour is important to me to tell me which way the stock wants to go, so have my own price targets (short & medium term) to the upside or downside based my own records of price movements to tell me the price direction as recently mentioned. IMHO DYOR

Wow it took 3.5 yrs to reach again the High 3450 closing price made on 15/03/2018 and then retracing to the Low 1878 made on 27/12/2018, talk about patience.

Boyobach my apologies for using your thread but as you said b4 “Getting back to the actual topic...” so back to RDSB

I’m not a technical person but I try to keep my own record of prices movements to form an objective decision for myself. For example the following prices are the Closing prices of the day for simplicity.

For me before I can think of that momentum has changed to upwards, first I hope it closes above 1450.40 which is the high it made on 05/07/2021 after reaching this year’s high 1518 on 12/03/2021 and then retracing to the low 1283.60 on 28/05/2021.

And then if it closes above 1486 which is last year’s high made on 07/04/2020, after the first low 916.80 made on 18/03/2020 and before retracing to the lower low 866.40 on 28/10/2020, before first I can dream of seeing 1518 again and perhaps consider that the upward momentum might have resumed again to me and then I’ll worry high targets later.

I could be wrong but Thur 24/06/21 was the official day RSW demotion to FTSE250. Tbh we will never know the true reasons why a stock rises or falls, so I just try to accept the story the stock is telling me at that time even if it’s the opposite of my opinion or expectations.
