RE: Energy Prices Rising in January!25 Nov 2024 19:04
Hi Ggp is good to hear you had a great week after the sad news with your dog, I’m glad you enjoyed the moment with your wife and friends because life is just too short not to.
Yes you are right I try to be careful what I wish for indeed, because we both know that higher commodities prices do not always correlate to higher SP. Remember in 2022 after Russia invaded Ukraine the high Oil and Gas prices reached but the SP peaked 2440 (closing price) on 08/06/2022 then retreated down to 1936.40 (closing price) on 14/07/2022, even though commodities prices were still higher than what it has been this year when the SP reached a new all-time closing High at 2946 on 10/05/2024.
But as consumers we will be impacted harder in everyday life if the commodities prices are higher again like in 2022. Besides with Shell break-even price in the range $30 to $55 from brokers and especially what you mentioned previously about Shell ceo Wael Sawan skills to cut costs and turning to profitable projects, the company will make good profits with the oil price range $60-$70 to me tbh.
