AndyTheMKDon cleared this up yesterday (see below). There's an uncrossed trade at 1.96 which doesn't appear on here (again...). Be interesting to see where this actually starts this morning.

Has this as a "buy" at 106p:

Excellent post zoros! I'm a relative newbie here with an average of c. 26p, whilst I'm not concerned and will continue adding it's useful to be reminded that this is a buy & hold for the long term, not one to be looking at every 5 minutes. Just pleased to have found your post in a forest of (mostly) dross on here this morning. K

The 500k buy was mine. I sold some at 2.20 and again at 1.80, was hoping this would drop a bit further but lost my nerve as it seems to have bottomed out for now at least. Will buy more if it drops to c. 1.20 but think it's more likely we'll see a slow rise from here.

I'd like to get some more at around 190 Soder but I don't think it's going to happen. HeiQ seem able to sign deals with almost any industry you can imagine (textiles, paint, packaging), before long there'll only be Boris's hair that's not coated with the stuff!

Ha ha, it's that simple is it Keepcalm? Exceptional fund managers grow on trees? Tell that to investors in Woodford's funds. James Anderson has an incredible investment record, and is the main reason why brokers have SMT on their "best buy" lists, encouraging customers to invest. Who knows if they will maintain this positive position once he leaves, or if they'll take the opportunity to suggest that people take profits?

NMBS, all other things being equal the NAV should remain broadly the same (it's not affected by the share buy-back) but because there are less shares in circulation the price should slowly rise over time, giving a benefit to shareholders. That's the theory anyway. I'd much rather have a dividend if they've got spare cash TBH.

Yes that's right Seagull101, I read the RNS saying it had been scaled back significantly so I was really surprised when PrimaryBid told me I'd received my full allocation. I only subscribed for 2,000 shares so maybe the smaller requests have been met in full? I paid 106 for them, as per the offer document, so again not a significant discount to the current price. I've probably only saved £20 + dealing costs but as I'd decided to invest here anyway it seemed like a good way to start. Planning to add some more over the next 12 / 24 months, as funds allow, to improve the income from my ISA. My first REIT investment, might not be my last if I see other opportunities like this one.

I'm finding this share very frustrating. I bought some in January following the pullback after results (which I still don't quite understand?), then bought a few more as it continued to drop, but would have bought more if I'd had access to funds at the time. Now that I have, I keep seeing the price drop slightly but every time I think it's going to drop to c. 190 they release another blockbuster RNS and up she goes again like a balloon! I'll give it one more go but I've got a horrible feeling I'm going to be paying well over £2 if the news flow keeps coming. K

email from PrimaryBid this morning, I've received my full allocation. I'll probably dip into the market from time to time to build my position and keep a bit handy for the next cash call.

So James Anderson is leaving Baillie Gifford next year, after almost 40 years with the company, more than 20 of which has been as Portfolio Manager and latterly joint Portfolio Manager of SMT. Arguably he's had one of the finest careers in the history of investment trusts, building SMT to the peerless position it holds today. Fiona McBain, Chair of Scottish Mortgage, doesn't even say "thank you". That's beyond bad manners - unforgiveable! He's going to be a hard act to follow for sure, let's hope he's as good at succession management as he's been at spotting stock market winners. Sad day for the Trust.

Raise increased from £100m to £150m, shows there's been plenty of support for it. Revised deadline has passed now, allocations will be announced tomorrow, trading in the new shares commences on Tuesday. I expect it will be scaled back so planning to add more once confirmed and monies refunded.
