Trading update. FY profit guidance increased from not less than £40m to not less than £50m, trading continues to significantly outperform the wider new-car market despite headwinds including chip shortage. Small rebound in the SP this morning but after the recent plunge in price the expected dividend (8.86p interim paid, 4.43p final next May) would represent a yield of 6%.

No transaction costs but you have to hand your money over to PB for about 10 days with no visibility of it and then wait to see what your allocation might be. At least in the open market you're doing a deal there & then. Swings & roundabouts, as you say.

RNS now announcing the PrimaryBid offer. Looks like it was delayed as it refers to the original announcement "earlier today". Interesting that the new shares will not receive the 7 October dividend: "For the avoidance of doubt, New Ordinary Shares issued pursuant to the PrimaryBid Offer will not carry the right to receive this first quarterly dividend." so buying at 116.485 or below would be equivalent or better than the offer price?

Fair point well made Alan, I just think it's a bit stingy when a c. £300m company has gone to the trouble and expense of engaging PrimaryBid to manage the retail offer but then restrict their allocation to a measly c. £1m whilst making c. £75m available to their City chums. Poor old sidi would have bid for half of those if they hadn't sold out lol.

I don't think the company is particularly bothered about retail investors adv11. The fat cat institutions have been able to gorge on 67,883,824 new cheap shares whilst us lowly PI's had to squabble over a measly 1,163,005 Euro's worth. You can see where their priorities lie. I'll be keeping a watch on the SP this week and dip in if it comes close to the offer price.

Yes I've written a note on my spreadsheet sidi - "don't buy except when company is raising funds". Looks like there will be plenty of opportunities to buy discounted shares going forward. I just hope all the opportunities they are exploring are at least as beneficial to shareholders as their existing investments. As adv11 said, it does seem to have come very soon after the last raise. This sector is very hot currently though, because of the wholesale gas price spike.

Oh, interesting adv11 - thanks. I wonder if they will increase the amount? Should be an RNS tomorrow presumably. This can only be good for the SP going forward.

Baltic Dry Index rising again. When a shortage of shipping capacity is being discussed on the news and the likes of John Lewis are chartering vessels you'd have to feel it's a good time to be invested in TMIP, surely?

It seems to be settling around 109 - 110 for now, can't see that holding when they'll be available at 107 on PrimaryBid. Good job it closed at 116 Friday, limited the damage a bit!

If you don't mind me asking, are you a Shares Magazine subscriber Bananaman2? I ask because I have also bought HFEL and GCP after researching a list of top-paying Trusts & REITs it recently published. Hoping to add NESF when funds available.

It dropped to the offer price last time Bananaman2 and will probably be close to it again this time. In auction still this morning as expected, let's see where it comes out but suspect it'll be around 108 mid. K

More positive news for BLV. Having originally tipped the share at 235 in June, Shares Magazine says in today's edition:
"With lettings and now sales recovering, the future looks bright. Keep buying the shares."

Price target now 228p and maintains "buy" rating, not significantly raised (previously 227p...) but restatement of their position is positive for TW.

Looks like that gap at 80p is going to be filled - again!!

No sign of skeletons in the wardrobe but the market remains in a negative phase for now. I guess there have been some exceptional reasons for such a strong performance this half year. However, BLV has proven capable of growth in all market conditions, and I suspect more acquisitions are likely either this year or next. If the blood-letting in the market continues I'll be adding for the long-term. K

Interim dividend increased to 4p. Dorian Gonsalves, CEO: "Having reported H1 profitability considerably ahead of our start of year expectations, and given the Group's further investment in earnings enhancing businesses to expand both the property and the financial services divisions, and high activity levels within all areas of our business at the start of H2, the Board is confident of achieving a strong trading performance for the full year."
Still reading through the detail but on the face of it another excellent performance by BLV.

They won't get mine for less than £3. If the special dividend is restored next year, as expected, that'll equate to a double-digit yield. Except it won't, because this will have rerated long before that happens. Just sit tight and wait, or, like me, add more on the dips.
