Why don't government listen to the experts who understand these units and know that the required storage scale is not mere hours, but days, weeks and months if we are to rely on renewable energy significantly. Pumped storage capacity is way off, flow-batteries not bad for medium term, but gas is king, a significant proportion of which will likely be green H2 not methane if we are to reduce GHG emissions.
