About 60%. But I think this would only impact Medicaid prices and might impact the bigger private market raising prices to offset. Guesstimate would be a loss of ~$400m revenue.
Starmer and crew are just virtue signalling for votes. Energy already taxes to 65% and make a fraction of their revenue in UK. Amazed how many don’t do basic research but nothing new as makes headlines. Tomorrow should be spectacular apart from the moaning. Folks need to be mindful that a multinational energy company make more than a tenner lol
I suspect US government will need to relax rules/regs around opening new fields and encourage ramping up production. Interesting balance given election status.
Great to see this votes down as wouldn’t achieve much in a global economic crisis. Unfortunately we just have to weather is out. Short term solutions do more damage than good. Batten down the hatches! GLA DYOR
Won’t happen….gov are just waving the stick around to ratchet the pressure up ref alternative energy sources. WTF would be a drop in the ocean for what is a global energy pricing issue.
Sounds positive. Won’t be a windfall tax as that’s too short term. I suspect we are about to see proper government support for new fields in the North Sea plus more encouragement for diversifying into renewables of which Shell/BP on well on that journey. GLA. DYOR
There won’t be a windfall tax. Not enough support for it in government. Great thing about huge revenues is that big oil now has more liquidity to invest in new longer term projects and development.
