Oh Jeeezzzzz..... my first post in reply to someone & i'm in the doghouse within 10 minutes
An interesting comparrison here.
Zuckerberg declared 2023 his 'year of efficiency' which propelled the Meta SP from $100 to $400
In one year, ONE.
Whereas our own ex-CEO took a staggering 6 years plus to completely trash the share price....
Fortunatly for Mrs Kipper & myself we got into Meta @ an average of $145 & still hold.
Don't usually post here. Used to do on other forum but hounded off for telling a few truths to the Diehard Believers & comparing JL to Arthur Daley.
An appearance on Sky's Ian King Live by AH on Wednesday 17th wouldn't go amiss either
Fish,
you can Transfer your DEC shares to HL at any time and they take only 15% WHT; takes from 2 to 6 weeks they say
You can open a new ISA any time so long as no new contributions over the £20k are made
Sounds like this would save you c£1,600 a year to me.....
In @ 2,356
10% yield at that (if not reduced)
The pandemic low on 1 Oct '20 was c2,455, surpassed recently by 2,403
This drop seems a bit overdone to me.
Any further fall to the 2,425 level & i will be buying also.
Thanks anon, i searched & missed it.
Update tomorrow. SP at 2,475 now. If it drops to around 2,400 (which is the recent low) i think i may well try a few.
£24 should give me c9.5% return, if held. XD on 21st for c58p.
Good luck all
That's very interesting info Terry, thanks
I thought the FSCS compo applied to my share holding for some reason; so no real need to move some share holdings over. HL charge an account fee of £45/year, though only 15% WHT. My tiny DEC holding of £2,000 will hopefully give me c£414/year. I will pay 15% more WHT with iWeb, so £62/year. Conclusion: not worth the bother.
David, HL say it would be ok to transfer any amount of shares into a new account with them, just need to complete the relevant Transfer Form.
CommKai, i spoke to iWeb but they say it's 'policy' to remove WHT at 30%. Part of Lloyds Banking Group i understand.
Thanks for that.
I need to transfer some shares over to another provider as i am over the £85,000 compo limit with iWeb.
So, will contact them to open an account & 'park' my DEC, META & COIN shares.
So won't be buying, but think there is a monthly account fee or something
Will give them a call
Thanks again
Finally, i managed to stop my dithering & bought in at 64.07p
3,000, so a nice round number
Firmly bought as a recovery play with a bonus of a nice 15% Nett dividend. I think the US listing & 20/1 will give the SP a firm bottom at this level going forward
If it now tanks, please don't blame me!!
Newbie to BATS. Quick question for you long termers.
I see that the dividend has been increased over the last two years by 1% & 6% respectivly.
Has the company a set plan to continue this increase going forward at all?
Thanks in advance
Thanks Terry, will look into some of those,
Re; BATS, i see the SP is 2,508, with a yearly low only a month ago of 2,403. Soon going XD (21st) for c58p. So, i recon if the SP ebbs away to, say c2,460, i will look to bag a few around it's yearly bottom post XD. That would give me a return of 9.7%, given a constant dividend.
Sorry to be off topic, hope folks don't mind on a chilly weekend....
