Thought it was AI generated frivalous cr*p myself, but stuck it up as some on here love the stuff
Soon be 7am Wednesday, hope you heathans set your alarms.
Will the injured wildebeest limp on or succumb and be a tasty morsel at 16p??
Tick tock......
Https://finance.yahoo.com/news/favourable-signals-capita-numerous-insiders-085857225.html
@Bubbles,
Just short of 29p right now. Have worked out with the money i have, if i can top up at circ16p area i can drop that to around 24/25p. This is the high end of current trading range, so may be able to exit at that point. Other people's strategies may vary based on their own personnel circumstances.
As a few have said it could be H1 results in August earliest before we see an Adolfo turnaround.(or sighs of)
I hold within my ISA, so not able to offset any CGT loss against gains made elsewhere.
All we can do is wait with baited breath for RNS 7am Wednesday. Busy for me as also have LGEN, with AVIVA & ITV Thursday.
@GoCPI,
I don't mean to upset by raking over the past, please don't take it that way. I realise the future & AH is all that matters now.
But i get the strong impression that a good few on here subscribed to the 'turnaround' story and are disappointed and frustrated in equal amounts.
My guess on Wednesdays results is that AH will get all the bad news out, but will caveat that with his vision of the future. Whether the media will accept that, or print some more Crapita stories , who knows. But, as history shows here and elsewhere, anything but good news and numbers, and we will be jumped on.
To that end i think the SP will come under downward pressure. Could be back to 16's. Who knows. SP does seem to be trading in a band from that level to 21/22p, which it may well repeat until first AH numbers in August.
16's & i'll find some spare to bring my average down to mid 20's, +/-25p. See that achievable, then i'm out of my hole. finally......lol
Good weekend all, horrible here in Yorkshire today.
So, the recent rise in the SP was actually a 'suckers rally'. Raising the price to 20/21p for a few days to suck in the 50p by Xmas brigade, before results come out Wednesday and the price drops. Acid test for that theory 8am Wednesday then eh!!
Can i ask this question again (final time), as nobody seems to be able to answer it...
In his FY 2018 statement released on 14 March 2019 CEO Jon Lewis quotes....
"Balance sheet strengthened; £1.1bn raised through rights issue and disposals"
So where has all the money gone from sales from 1 January 2019 to now?
Capita debt was listed at £1.1bn when JL became CEO, but now 5 years later we still have debt. Why?
One answer could be that the company has been eating itself by selling off the good bits to prop up the balance sheet.
By the by; NOTHING that any of us idiotic Pilgrims write on here will in the slightest way have an effect on the share price. They are simply the musings of fools....
@Go CPI
"And I'm not sure what makes you think that Capita can't announce a material market moving piece of news (a £220m revenue enhancing contract) via a RNS, even if it's in a closed period ahead of results - a head-scratcher, IMO?"
I just took that info from Investopedia website, but am fine to be corrected. Maybe it is what you might describe a 'grey area'. Or does it mainly apply to share purchases during this period, who knows.
" Why Companies Tend to Stop Making Statements During a Close Period
Companies typically refrain from releasing price-sensitive statements or news during the close period. Companies may choose to withhold making statements during the close period to prevent the company’s shares from being affected ahead of the release of the expected financial results.
If possible, a trading statement or other news might be issued prior to the start of the close period. Companies can host discussions with investors and analysts before the close period commences. It is also possible that statements and news relevant to the financial results would be released as part of the filings or shortly after.
For instance, the company might wait until the financial results are published before revealing the test results for a new product or plans for a new initiative to expand operations."
Just to be more clear on this Mail on Sunday article from July 2022 with Jon Lewis, for those who may never have read it.
Link.....
https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/markets/article-10997739/Turnaround-King-Jon-Lewis-revival-Government-contractor-Capita.html
"He is optimistic that its stock will hit the pre-rights issue price in the next year or two."
"For all Lewis's enthusiasm, how ever, the share price has remained stubbornly low – at 25p."
"less than the 97p at the time of 2018's £700million emergency rights issue "
So, the SP was 25p at July 2022. JL quote says optimistic for pre rights price of 97p before July 2024. That's some target to reach within next 5 months. Some may argue that Covid & Data Hack scuppered those targets. Possibly. But this article was post Covid, so maybe not.
"But he rattles off a list of things he still wants to do – growing the group's business divisions at the rate of the markets they each serve and erasing Capita's debt. 'At that point one may pause and say, 'Is it time to go off and do something else?' But we are not there yet.' "
We are still in debt. Not erased. Reduced, yes.
Saved the company, debatable.
E&oE
"Jonathan Lewis strongly believes it will multi-bag and it will reach the pre-rights SP minimum which is why he has so much skin in the game. It's a question of when not if."....i rest my case
Most of the 'skin' he has here is what has been given to him via monthly share options pilgrim. Don't think he's actually bought many shares with the £7m+ in salary over the past 6 years.
How come we got a RNS the other day if we are in a 'closed period', as i was told? Thought there was a 1 month rule there?
At least the CEO didn't announce it on LinkedIn; AH must have read my moan from last weekend about that...lol
If anyone is new to this board, be very careful. I remember last year at this time some heathens were predicting FCF+, £50m profit & the possible bonus of reinstated dividends.
August H1 before any of that is likely, imho, and then only if AH proves himself a Zuckerberg....
Three bob to you good God fearing folks here is 15 pence.
Observation: There are certain very nice people on here who do not seem to be able to separate 'wishful thinking' from reality. We all want 50p, we all want £1; but we have been waiting for years for that. It all feels a bit 'this time next year Rodders....' sometimes
As a comparison today my ITV are up 14% on £255m sale of Britbox.
Why wasn't Capita up a similar amount on RNS?
@Culley,
Yes, so hopefully a good chance for us vultures to average down or get in for the long run.
But, don't forget your Greek Mythology and old Icarus. After all, if i had said 13 months ago Capita would suffer a cyber attack that would drop the SP from 40p+ to three bob, you would have laughed.
Yep, soon be feeding off the maggot infested carcass.
Good news that it was, I see we have retraced to the level before it was announced
I'm thinking, results poorly received my market & SP ebbing off to 18's hopefully 16's.
Just my view, other opinions are available
E&oE
Well just 7 trading day's remaining until Full Year Results released on 6th March. (busy two day's for me as LGEN, ITV & AV also report)
My fear is that farmer Jon will have sold even more prime, high yield wheat growing acres at £10k an acre to balance the books & pay for this years new Range Rover Velar. Handing Capita Farm over to son Adolfo with just a bit of pasture, some scrub and woodland to eak a living. Looks like another used Skoda Octavia for old Adolfo. Not sure he will be looking at autonomous combines this year H!
But, we hope for the best & plan for the worst
Next on my weekend moan list is this LinkedIn 'update'.
Why on earth would the new CEO of a £300m company update all stakeholders in said company via LinkedIn? Has Adolfo not heard of the Investor Relations section of the companies website; surely a better place to inform us all on his first month in the job. It's not like he's opened a pizza shop in Croydon & wants to let us know about his tasty pepperoni offering! Maybe he just wanted his LinkedIn chums to rub circles in his back
Come on Adolfo, we own the company, report to us properly.
Lastly, I would consider adding here only at high 15's/low 16's, and not high 17's as there is a 10% difference. Going to take onboard what someone on here said recently (sorry, forgot your name as i'm an OAP, apparently). Will wait for the results before making any decision.
If I can bring my average down to mid 20's I think that is achievable, and at that point will sell out and wish you all the very best of good fortune for the future....
E&oE
"Well it did actually double back then from 22p to 44p
Now we have the opportunity to it again and more"
This is very true @sharehead
When we all thought the Phoenix had finally flown to those dizzy heights we all rejoiced
But it was not to be, and our Phoenix turned out to be Icarus, plummeting to earth at 15p.....
E&oE
Strangely enough, i can't find much to disagree with there; i've been decrying 'defence cuts' for years now
Tho am not agreeing that Capita are doing a great job, certainly not
E&oE
.......apparently not! lol
I'd like to say a special thanks to our new contributor, DD. Keep it coming please
A far better class of member on LSE compared to AD3FN, which is now infected with a particularly nasty worm
Actually, over the last few years i've been reading comments on here, i'm surprised we haven't heard from more ex & current employees.
imho......actually no. Fed up with that. Am going with .....

@Go.... nice post, obviously some intelligence behind your views
Odd quirk of human nature, isn't it, that seemingly good, hopefully respectful people in the real world, choose to come onto a public message board and make insulting remarks, hiding behind the anonymity of a keypad. Say things they would never say in person. In the end decent people come to realise just the type of individual they are.
Lots of comments today but only old Kipper here gets targeted.
Also i've noticed that whenever a certain person posts a message, within a matter of minutes they receive 3, 4 or more Recommends; doesn't happen to others. Again, more oddness.
Bring it on my friend....
@Tren...
So, IF i think that the FY Results announced on 6 March will be poor (or poorly recieved), then i may be better waiting for that if i want to buy. In your 15/16p region. As you say 'place your bets'.
You know, people make investment decisions based on many criteria. When i first bought into Capita i was in good health, for my age. But now, not so good. Hence my will to sell out. Maybe if some on here are also in their say, 'elder years', they may understand. I don't know. A younger person, who is 'going to live forever' might not quite understand either. But, believe me, your health does have a bearing on things like this.
Perhaps you can figure out what i am saying here Tren, (& others) and see this from my perspective.
I really NEED to get my money out .....
Nice chatting with you God fearing people today.....
@Trenners, that's a lot of money, thanks for your honesty
Lots of differing views on Capita today with only the one a personal putdown.
Seems some are only able to put their point across by 'poking' at others instead of stating their own viewpoint respectfully.
No matter tho as we Vultures have thick skins, and i can't even begin to tell you what our stomach's can digest.
Keep it coming bro......lol
