Not share related but an odd comment seen on a P&O Facebook forum from a Newbie to cruising.
Q " My first cruise, do I have to bring bed linen as we've booked a suite? "
A " No , not even in an inside cabin" (There were many answers some ridiculing the question )
Reply " Well we did on our Narrow Boat trip a few years ago"

I chatted to an old buddy in New York last night. He was an analyst with a large investment house and specialised in the travel and leisure sector.
His take was, Carnival often grumbled about the CCL.L discount SP back when they were paying dividends. Large US. investors would buy CCL.L just prior to ex div date and then dump the shares later, on qualifying, causing the volatility we have seen in earlier days.
The buying of CCL. L stock by Carnival is to reduce that practice when divs resume at some time.
Just his opinion but he is very knowledgable . K

Early feedback from first UK Coastal cruise seems very positive.
Things very well organised and relaxed. Most restaurant and entertainment bookings made via on board app. Shops and Casino open , no tax free sales. Bar prices slightly higher than before the pause. Excellent service with very happy crew it seems.
Many first timers booked longer cruises whilst on board or on return home.
Restricted to 1000 pax but now booking 50% capacity.
Better times ahead.

Not naive at all Ian, it did cross my mind about the future of the dual listing.
The thousands of small investors who hold just 100 shares in PLC in order to qualify for OBC wont see the RNS or understand it’s implications.
In the meantime let’s hope the repurchasing improves the SP . K

Might need a drop of that Rogue B Whisky if it falls further. K

Seems a lot of selling and little buying so the SP drifts.
We know the potential but some positive news would be handy.

P&O Britannia embarks fare paying passengers tomorrow as the first of many UK Coastal Cruises for Carnival sets sail. Although limited to 1000 passengers they are very well booked through to the end of September. Small steps but positive ones. K

Still reporting big loss disguised with positive news. The Institutional Investors got wind of it and took profits so the SP tumbles. They'll be back as things open up. K

Been up this road a couple of years ago with Sirius Minerals ( Potash mine in Yorkshire )
BS of a CEO bigged it up and ended up selling out to Anglo American for buttons.
Hope our George has a better plan .

That’s not right, there is a huge pent up demand for cruises but foreign travel restrictions prevent them happening. UK “ Seacation “ cruises from several Lines are oversold and now many bookings are being cancelled by those Lines due to capacity restrictions.
We get good news then a kick in the b*lls so the SP is volatile. K

P&O have upset a lot of people by cancelling some bookings for UK Seacation cruises.
They seemingly oversold capacity expecting UK restrictions to be eased from June 21st.
Many first time cruisers have had their bookings cancelled for the early sailings and from reading the forums many will not rebook despite an offer of full refund or 125% FCC.
I don’t think P&O are alone several other lines seemingly did not anticipate BoJo‘s announcement last week.
It’s a PR disaster for P&O .

I believe in this stock but jeez, it is boring. SP never moves, so few trades.

Hi RP , It’s done well the last few weeks and still has legs IMO but a long way from dividends yet. K

Just received a positive update from the Cornish Lithium project.
They seem to be pushing on nicely and are very good communicators.
How different to George & Co.

Positive news would sure be welcome, enough to get the SP out the Doldrums at least. K

When I initially bought in 10 years ago , I paid £22 with the minimum 100 shares to qualify for on board spend. It rose to nearly £50 with quarterly dividends @$0.50 cents then with Covid it dropped to under £7 and no dividends. Since then I’ve been adding and will again if I see an opportunity but recent gains better than I expected.

Steady Fizz, that’s a long way off.
Have to fix the balance sheet and resume dividends before anything near those levels.
