I read about another Covid surge in the Philippines.
With India seemingly overwhelmed and now the Philippines where will UK P&O and others get their crew?
Not likely to attract many Brits or Eastern Europeans for $900 per month with long hours and 7 day weeks. K

Had a little top up this morning , a nice round figure holding now. K

A few positive RNS regarding resumption of sailings in the last few days.
Hopefully some good news from Grant Schapps tonight will open up a few more cruise destinations for UK shipmates. K

It's hard to figure when Techtonic. A steady stream of good news from several of their investments but the SP slips back.
A couple of lumpy "sells" around lunchtime today but I personally tucked a few away. K

I’m interested to know how P&O UK will crew their ships with all the Covid news from India.
I keep in touch with a P&O Cruises Restaurant Manager who lives in Goa. He has had no contact from the normal crewing agencies but is desperate to resume sailing. K

Fair point Alyhels. Despite strong forward bookings , many are replacing earlier cancelled trips using 125% FCC allowances. No dividends before 2023 as high debt needs to be paid down.
There are also a number of new vessels in the pipeline which will need paying for but the longer term prospects are good. K

Supermabs , We qualify as double jabbed, rich ( ish ) old cruisers desperate to get back on board and from Social Media on several forums for cruising and cruise lines there are many thousands in the UK like us. Not ramping, just facts and speak to any TA dealing in cruises, they very busy, booking through to Winter 2023.
Four years ago today we were arriving back from 116 night World Cruise, how times change but better things ahead and Carnival will still be there and thriving. K

Nice posts. Our friend has a big birthday next May and has booked a cruise with P&O a few weeks ago. We and another couple have tried to get on the same trip , Stand by only !
Our TA says bookings with all cruise lines are very strong even with higher prices and less OBC.

Good advice to top slice, I’m a firm believer in that.
In fact have done that today on another stock and topped up here to bring average close to today’s SP.
I wonder if Low6 concerned by shenanigans in ESL debacle is impacting. SP. ?

Agree APR, I see that as a sound move , surprisingly followed by a couple of lumpy sales and the SP weakens.

Normally, cruise lines, in the main, disappear from the Caribbean May through October for that reason. Cheers / K

Thriftygirl, thanks I just read that today in the Liverpool Echo so hopefully they will update it.
It would be great to have British crewed vessel but unlikely rather East Europeans would do that work as they did in the restaurants before Covid.

Magic, you are just silly. Most folks who cruise and own CCL will have the minimum 100 shares or just a few hundred so ramping pointless. Personally, I’ve got a few hundred and the Wife 100 so no big deal if it moves up or down a quid or so, we just want to resume our cruises.

Liverpool Cruise terminal has issued a schedule of 30 cruise ship visits this season including some Fred Olssen turnaround voyages. Worryingly my P&O call is not on their list??
Not sure how they will crew these vessels. Take P&O, the vast majority of their hotel and restaurant staff are from India and the Philippines , both of which are on our Red List and both of which have rampant Covid outbreaks.
Several of these UK Coastal cruises start next month , it might be all self service! K

Imagine 3 mega cruise ships tied up along side Southend Pier.
Now that would be a spectacle .
I’m booked to a P&O , West Coast trip stopping at Liverpool , my birthplace .
I know 6 other regular shipmates on the same cruise, we’ll have a lot of fun. K

A few bits of positive news over the last few weeks but the share price remains “ becalmed”
It’s all rather dull but better than some of my other “ penny stocks “ so I’m holding . K
