I sold some last week and bought a cruise for our Son and partner. First choice was fully booked and last two cabins on booked cruise ( P&O)
TA said forward bookings very strong. K

I know this area very well having worked in Forest Products industry in that area.
Odd timing considering Russia is on the doorstep but a modest investment by GUN so fingers crossed . We could do with something to spark the SP.

Been on two P&O Cruises this year both were busy and people were spending. The average age of passengers was certainly younger than I recall pre Covid. The only restaurant closed during the day was open at night. The new ship Iona and the under construction Arvia have greater appeal to younger folks. Besides, with all the crap going on at airports and airlines sailing no fly cruises with no luggage restrictions has a certain appeal.
I see Carnival as a buy and trade next week. K

Chatting to a now retired Captain, he indicated that before Brexit, Carnival had seriously investigated wrapping all their European brands, Costa, Aida & P&O together and floating ( forgive the pun( them.
Brexit obviously scuppered ( no pun intended) that then but he maintains it was well advanced and being driven by the UK. He also indicated that some Princess vessels would be reassigned to the European brands but Cunard was not part of the package.
Given their current plight, I'm sure it's still an option on the table . K

I was chatting to a lady on the cruise last week, she had bought at £46 a few years back. Only 100 but as she cruised 5 or 6 times a year she was happy to receive extra on board credit each time so wasn’t selling anytime soon.
As for me, I’ve stuck a few in the Wife’s ISA this morning.

Just back off P&O Ventura, 2139 passengers, about 65% of capacity.
That is not due to lack of sales but that certain cabins are blocked off for isolation of passengers or crew if needed. I chatted to the Doc on board early last week and he said they had no confirmed Covid cases on this cruise. People were spending and booking forward cruises.
