Never, Agree, lots of cruise destinations will be off the itinerary in the Middle East. It's going to be a tricky few months for cruise lkbes serving that area. K

On a cargo or container ship the stowage for trim is very important. As cruise passengers get fatter and heavier, will they be asking our weight in order to distribute the load more evenly for stability reasons? Lol. K

YR, that cruise blogger Emma is on that cruise, she said she'd never experienced such weather.

I think before the crew were used to more "genteel" passengers than the drinks package lot they get nowadays on the big ships. I also think P&O work them harder( our steward had 22 cabins to service and later had to stack sunbeds) I 've done 30+ P&O cruises and have certainly noticed a decline in standards but still good value.

I see Carnival have sold another old Costa ship which was the same age as P&O Aurora. K

I agree with most what you say but not sure about your last sentence.

I have cruised for many years, 3 or 4 per year and I've noticed a change in demographic of the passengers, particularly on our last 3 cruises which have been on P&O's largest vessels. Far more young people with families, many from, manual work backgrounds are trying cruising .All will pay rent or mortgages , services etc so I think it could impact.

This section of the market don't spend the same on board, they rarely use the premium restaurants or book tours. It is price sensitive as cost of cruising will be measured against bucket & spade party destinations costs.

These new cruisers want their holidays in peak times for work breaks etc but these ships work 365 days a year and need filling. North European destinations have little appeal in the

Winter so options from the UK are limited.

Cruises are no longer the domain of the higher income bracket so I think rising costs do impact cruiser.

All pointers indicate decent results but the debt burden will weigh heavy with the institutions. Still reckon a modest increase kn SP likely. K

YF , I was just looking at Saga Cruises, a bit pricey but AIC. Friends just returned, said it was very good. Superior to Cunard they said and they have sailed on the Queens more than 20 times.

All the bigger ships berth at the new terminal in Barca . Shuttle service to by the old cruise / ferry port, a bit more than 10 mins last week, nearer 20. K

Al, We did it on Arcadia, also went to Odessa & Yalta in Crimean Ukraine. K
