Remember a few years ago a snowstorm raged from North Pacific to the east coast pre Thanksgiving. Flights grounded for days nothing moved , no one could get to cruise ports. Travel stocks took a hammering , they are very sensitive. K

I'm happy with the move. The Finns are usually pretty well run companies. K

Bots, Big week for US travel next week as Thanksgiving holiday approaches.

When I lived there ( Texas) flights were booked out weeks ahead and I'm sure cruises will be fully booked too. If this is the case then it should reinforce the SP. K

I bought our first 100 to get shareholder benefits when we cruised. That was 12 years ago and I paid nearly £23. I know of many cruisers who paid £40 +. Personally I only ever held a maximum of 2000 but sold most at £48. In those days we were getting $0.50c divi pe quarter. We were also cruising 3 or 4 times a year so shareholder benefits too.

Since. I have bought and sold but keep few hundred in my name and similar in the Wife's.

I'm averaging just about break even but the Wife's average is under £7 as she keeps informing me.

I'm in the "steady climb " corner expecting £12 by Q2 next year but no hope of divi for a couple of years. K

Looks a nice trip. If you are in Fairbanks in June, pack some Mozzie spray, the little b's are just waking up and thirsty. Vancouver is lovely at anytime. Enjoy K

Between us we have about 30000 shares.

My Daughter worked there after studying and became a junior manager. During her early days she got lots of staff shares. When she was getting married she wanted to sell them for a house deposit. I magnanimously said I'd buy them so transfer them to me & Mum. She did and we paid about £14 a share! Have bought and sold many times since and average 67p today so happy to keep them with the divi. K

Bhants, Nothing booked which very unlike us but annual travel insurance expires 31/10 so in no rush. The kids and hordes of Grandkids want to have a villa in summer so Her Ladyship is favouring that. We will definitely need a cruise after that if it happens! Might just book something at short notice if the winter us grim though . K

Just after 09.00am yesterday close to Ramsgate. Search ceased at 18.00pm. K

Sad to hear a crew member lost from Carnival Group , Aidaperla vessel off Ramsgate.

The search was called off last night. RIP.

Just reviewed my self managed ISA .

I hold only UK stocks and companies I have dealings with, so Lloyds, Vod, Aviva, LGEN, BT,

MNG, CCL and a few others. All slipped back last week except Harland & Wolffe ( my Wife's choice as it was her first job as a comptometer operator, remember them? ) My managed funds are doing rubbish too but at least I won £2.90 on the Euromillions. Lol

Stumpy, Pretty grim forecast but agree it's only heading south , hopefully not to that extent though. K
