Agree Ventura but and a big but , the efficacy of the vaccines wane as time progresses so I would expect to see a steady increase in hospitalizations as time goes by . By the time we reach winter with increased respiratory infections putting pressure on the NHS, we will have a huge contingent of people whose vaccines will offer substantially less protection then when they first had them. I am aware of the proposed program of booster jabs for a certain age group and the vunerable. I can only forsee increased testing going forwards.
Personally think mask wearing should have remained mandatory in certain situations. Can not envisage us going through winter without reinstatement of mandatory mask wearing as it relieves the pressure on the NHS , as they had minimal cases of flu etc to contend with mid pandemic - attributable to mask wearing.
Travelling will increase tremendously and everyone is aware border control and testing needs to continue as just one variant could wipe out all the amazing work done thus far in vaccinating so many. This virus puts every country on red alert until much higher proportions of the global population are vaccinated. Testing will continue to increase in parallel with people moving cross border for work and holidays.
