As the roles are temporary ( but list pension?) It reminded me of something I read last year.

I recall the same unions ( disappearing posts ) were on the Clyde last year and managed to get a decent deal for contractors. I wonder with the level of temp staff ( dictated by projects) if Harl have run up against similar issues.

I'd have no objection to them purchasing it , Harl would be an appropriate home. I suspect as with all memorabilia, that a bidding frenzy may ensue and indeed our Australian billionaire could aquire pre auction. Failing that , perhaps the Scilly replacement ferry , may well be as viable as current offerings 🫴 😀

Findingtheta , anyone myself included have a choice as to whether they invest their money in Harl. The islanders are reliant on both the ferry and air service to leave the island, for social occasions, work and emergencies. They also have to import practically everything. To learn that they will now be paying substantially more than they needed to ( perhaps can afford to ) and that they have been consistently lied to is somewhat different to us who have a choice. I dislike the inconsistencies in posting , by all means folks can call JW out , the same therefore should apply to the IOSSG.

Anyway like others I await the arrival of the cat and some basic comprehension of the ultimate business plan with regards to Scilly and other supposed areas they are interested in pursuing similar activities in.

Companies with a healthy profit cost substantially more WBAFC. From reading about what GDR have in the pipeline ( stroke) they look very much like a company that will be profitable going forwards but have a cash crisis right now.

Nothing to say NCYT are remotely interested , I just raised it as it is the sort of opportunity we are in the position to avail of.

The duration for an outright T/O clashes with court case and therefore I don't see that as feasible , however a % is certainly something they could proceed with if they so desired.
