Read with interest your link to www.theblaze.com. I thought perhaps it was fake news (standard knee jerk reaction these days to anything outside of the norm, I'm afraid)
However, a friend of mine in the US has just sent me another link to research on horseshoe bats carried out in Wuhan province way back in 2007.
Frankly, this research paper was far too complex and tedious for the likes of me, but it appeared to reaffirm the investigatory report found on theblaze.com.
Tough to read and scary if it's proven to be true.

Well I can reveal that the share he was 'advising on' (he likes using the word advice, doesn't he?) was TOTALLY PLC with an SP at that time of 14.65p. You won't be surprised to know that its SP on 9 Mar 20 was 9.2p - So let's hang on to stt1's every wise word he opines on BYOT - they're worth listening to.

You keeping banging on about the world HAVING to take ADVICE from WHO - well, it doesn't.

WHO's 'advice' is based on tests relating to OTHER corona viruses viz. SARS and MERS. But we know that the COVID-19 virus is a mutated version, which behaves in a totally different and unique manner from any previous influenza-based virus.

WHO admits there is NO test yet for sanitiser efficacy against the COVID-19. and accordingly, its recommendations are based on facts, which do not necessarily apply to the COVID-19 virus.

In other words, it's not really advice, but a 'calculated assumption' - no more than that.

Also, it has NEVER advised NOT to use alcohol-free sanitisers!!

Yes, you're right - I'm no expert here. But I do know that you missed out @ 1.5pence and *****ing here about it, only makes you look more foolish than you appear to be and a matter of sour grapes.

The report is extensive and very technical. Now, I'm no more an expert than our friend stt1, but unless I have completely misunderstood its conclusion (please correct me if you will), I deduce the following:
1. Currently, there is NO test for the human coronavirus (COVID-19).
2. All of WHO's recommendation and advice is based on tests carried out previously on the SARS and MERS viruses.
3. WHO observations and recommendations are totally derived from those tests.
4. WHO concludes (i.e.NOT PROVEN), that -

"Surface disinfection with 0.1% sodium hypochlorite or 62–71% ethanol significantly reduces coronavirus infectivity on surfaces within 1 min exposure time. We expect a similar effect against the SARS-CoV-2."

5. The defining word here is "EXPECTS". So as there are NO tests to date on the COVID-19 virus, let's not get on our high horse and insist that WHO's advice is absolutely "cast in stone".
6. Yes, WHO is the voice of an august organisation, but as to the FACT that alcohol-based hand sanitisers being the ONLY ones to use, is as yet UNPROVEN...

Boots HASN'T de-listed BYOT products - it's made for Boots under the Boots brand name....

A 87-year-old coronavirus patient recovered after his family was told to "prepare for the worst"

Percy Ewart Lockton, 87, was diagnosed with coronavirus after he returned to the UK from an idyllic cruise around the Caribbean with his wife Phyllis last month.

His condition deteriorated and he was soon fighting for his life in North Manchester General Hospital.

“There were a few days when we really were very worried about him and we were told to prepare for the worst," his granddaughter, Sophie Edwards told CNN.

With the help of some antibiotics to help treat another chest infection triggered by the Covid-19, the tide began to turn for Ewart. Eventually, as his health improved, he was given the all clear to go home, according to his granddaughter.

A Facebook post from Sophie shows the moment Ewart was discharged, wearing a mask and walking out of the hospital, accompanied by a nurse.

“This is my 87 year old Grandpa saying goodbye to staff at North Manchester Hospital where he’s been for 2 weeks with Covid Positive Pneumonia. He’s now finishing his recovery where he belongs, at home with my Grandma!” the post reads.

stt1 - you're the best PR for this share and you don't know it, do you?. Carry on with knocking it, as you have done since May 2019 on ADVFN (and continue to do so. The more you spew out your 'sour grapes', the more the SP goes up. As I say, you started your diatribe when the SP was 1.5p, all that time ago.
