Once you have taken the trouble to get the appropriate certificate from PLUS (and even that wasn't difficult), it is accepted by UK tax authorities for tax refunds on ALL divis received thereafter. 'Nefarious' (meaning 'criminal intent') just for supplying a UK passport to show you're UK domiciled?? Be careful what you say in the public domain. GLA & DYOR

Excellent presentation by Stuart Green. If you are an LTI (which I am), it really is worth watching the entire 43 minutes, after which you will probably conclude what an exciting business is developing here. In a global market of around $3bn ANNUALLY, this fledgling company is already a market leader in what is already a state-of-the-art industry. DYOR and GLA.

Malachi - I totally agree with your comments. I note that the QC's opinion/conclusion was based on his 14-page report compiled specifically for the SYM Board. This morning's RNS stated that the report was commissioned as an independent review, but surely its neutrality has been seriously tarnished if it has been carried out as a PAID assignment. SYM has already seen itself on the wrong end of 'paid-for' publicity - remember the the saga of Chris Packham and BBC's 'The One Show"? Following that debacle, the share price slumped. To avoid a repeat performance, perhaps the Board should be prepared to published the FULL report (including the QC's terms of reference) into the public domain for all to see.

Hamodeh82 - Ignore crooner's inaugural post on this BB. Methinks he may also operate under the handle 'neilrr' on ADVFN. If so, he's never had a good word to say about SYM - all the signs of a past sore loser. If there are any 'desperate measures' being taken, they're all his by coming onto this BB. GLA

Why aren't the shorters closing after such a great update? Is there another problem looming on the horizon? Long term investors (of which I am one) need to read this report issued jointly by the FCA and HM Treasury - "Crypto Assets Task Force" (see link below). I would particularly draw attention to the summary on page 40 re. a potential banning retail customers from trading CFDs relating to Cryptoassets. As we know from the RNS accompanying the interim results, the volatility of cryptocurrencies in late 2017/ early 2018 provided a significant element of profit, which contributed to the unexpected but much-welcomed special dividend. I wonder if the shorters are hedging that this revenue stream is about to be blocked off in early 2019? let's calm down - we're all on the same side here! The proven claim is that, when added at the time of manufacture, d2p will (over a period of time) oxo-biodegrade the constituents of the plastic products. d2p is NOT a disinfectant for killing germs which may attach themselves to the plastic products 'post-manufacture'. If such a claim has been made specifically by SYM, then it's news to me and no doubt to everyone else..... DYOR & GLA

I agree with Malachi. Don't think SYM has ever attempted to connect its products with killing germs through oxo-biodegradation. There is enough to do in staying focused on the main agenda without confusing matters by chasing pipe dreams. GLA.

pds2018 excellent summary of current situation. The future success of SYM depends entirely on whether OBP is proven to do what it says on the tin. IMHO the future market cap will be 'feast or famine' - that is the risk for us LTHs. Furthermore, I sincerely hope that the promise of additional marketing expenditure goes to explain the important difference between OBP and its inferior unworkable counterpart EPS. Also, post-Brexit, it would be helpful if the UK Government gave a lead by endorsing OBP technology from a UK company. Re. the current SP, unfortunately the trend was set when the first transaction yesterday morning (following the RNS) was a panic seller @ 5.56pence (compared to the last sale on the previous day @ 9.52 pence). For what it's worth I added more to my holding @ 7.96p GLA

I could have /should have bought some new shares, but left it too late - very annoying! However, the new shares only make for a 1.6% dilution overall, so SP (in theory) should only drop 2.5pence on admission of the new shares to the market. That said, an opportunity missed to add to my LTH, as it is a great business to be involved with. GLA

Just seen the repeat of this story on SKY News Press Review. You're partly correct Oxo in that Boniface is 'dissing' chemical additives to plastic bags through a lack of knowledge. But once again, as with other ill-informed journalists, she refers to BIO-degradable bags and not OXY- biodegradable bags. I also agree that SYM must take this opportunity to ask SKY to reappear on SKY News and ram home to the public the distinct difference between the two types of bio-degradability. As I have said before, SYM is its own worst enemy when it fails to seize these PR opportunities to state its case. Let's hope SYM does better this time around.

Not sure we will get a trading update before Q3 RNS which is usually announced in last week of October. Last year's trading update made on 27 Sept 17 was to alert the market of some exceptional results for 2017. Doubt whether there will be the same euphoria this time around. That said, PLUS is still a great investment for LTHs (IMHO). GLA

PLAYTECH is massively in debt. In past 3 months, it has sold its stakes in GVC & PLUS generating some £400m to pay down its borrowings. SP down nearly half in that period. I reckon PLAYTECH must be thankful (in hindsight) that its £4 per share CASH bid for PLUS in June 2015 was inadvertently knocked on the head by the FCA and can now laugh all the way to the bank with this latest windfall. For us LTHs in PLUS it's onwards and upwards. Thank you FCA....

There is little point in resurrecting old wounds. Whilst the BBC got it so desperately wrong on the 'One Show with its biased anti-SYM report, SYM did not cover itself in glory either with Chris Packham (foolishly?) failing to disclose his 'paid' connection with SYM - so as sam7 quite rightly says, "leave it". Surely we will be better placed making overtures to SKY News, where its 'Ocean Rescue' project appears to be a much better opportunity with which to be associated. GLA.
