Plunderer :) Agree that it's worth doing, think the potential upside of this outweighs the potential downside. Poly-Kaz is a good side bet and potential saver, even sanctions are not an inevitable death, cos the UK is up to its neck in Russian investment and influence, AND now we've burned bridges, the UK has to encourage any trade links possible. My borrowings where 4% up front then 20 months to pay it off at 0% (A+ credit rating) given this could rise 20% or more just on news of an auditor, I'm happy about it.

Hands up to that one, I've got 35 grand now in EVR, JRS and POLY, 29k of it in POLY. Of that, 6,500 of that is credit / borrowings from an account that will need it put back into, BUT I average a 900 to a 1,000 a week gross salary, it's summer splurging / projects money I'm investing, so not sweating over it. If it doesn't work out I will have to work a bit harder (I do 3 long days now) to make it up.

Just reinforce the posts by Kat and TA et Al. The economic impact to the West is being played down, it is hitting poorer developing countries most right now, but the effect will and is rippling up, farmers here are already paying double on last year's already inflated fertilizer prices, they're saying no point in producing grain this year, no profit. The world teeters on the brink of food shortages every year (don't get me started on how wheat isn't actually wheat, it's a poor relation to what we ate 100 years ago and stuffed full of gluten) Anyway, my point, which has been said before, is that the world cannot afford for this war to continue, in fighting for resources has started and will get worst = pressure to resolve. Fell on the RNS by a few mins by chance this morning, sold a couple of grands worth of doing nothing shares in my main retirement ISA but could only get one grands purchase through, break even was 2.20 I'm ridiculously excited about a £200 profit, if and when Poly takes off, I may be arrested for running up and down the island naked.

Good points Foor, but why the need for insults? Posters will either fight because of it, which doesn't produce anything good, or not bother to post so no ideas can focus into clarity, or be useful, or you end up green and your good points are not read, which would be a shame, already enough people on the board who can't say anything without having to prove they've got bigger gonads than the rest @_@ Amateurs like me are here to learn and appreciate good points!!

Appreciate you (and the others that do) putting time into a considered post. On the sanctions, maybe someone has some thoughts on sanctions. My (uneducated) thoughts are sanctions don't have to be death, as continuing post conflict sanctions would be around technology, gold and silver are sorely needed to keep economical wheels turning?

And yea I know their American, bias and all that.
