@Pips Fair enough, the way I'm seeing Poly gold is like the oil, if the EU don't want it the Far East will, and the EU and USA aren't as big as they try to make out. But yes I see what you mean, sentiment is pretty rock bottom on 'tainted' companies.

@Unhooked, surely the two issues for Poly are SWIFT (and or sorting out MOEX dividend payments), and the share price, Poly doesn't do business with 'the West' so doing business isn't the problem really?

Wind-up post, Pips? The original 'ban' on importing gold came a long time after gold imports where pretty much stopped anyway, and Ploy doesn't export to the EU and USA, exports from Russia to China, India etc have increased.

@Roxy, I agree apart from the positive trading update. The Auditor announcement should have had a positive effect, but at best it was reported as a 'Meh, auditor, whatever', nothing in the media to excite investors :( So expecting the same even on a positive trading statement, hope to be wrong of course ;) IMO etc

@Newport, that stuff been posted previously, it doesn't make a difference to the SP though, I think only split / dividend will give a short term boos, and ceasefire/ negotiations longer term recovery, cos then the ii's can potentially get back involved IMO

@DGR Appreciate what you say and it helps to hear from people who invest regularly. I'm a self confessed Newbie so haven't got the equilibrium of a longer term investor, so I like to see green figures :) But yes I am, twichy-ness aside, thinking the same, even with just Kaz (my imagined worst case scenario) the return would be far in excess of any kind of usually available investment income. I'm averaging 220 for 18500 shares, so given I'm inexperienced, I'm happy with that. Off to watch the golf and forget about shares for a while. GL.

Kind of (probable) win win, good split and or dividend news up they go, sigh of relief. Delays on both = SP bargains galore, then long term recovery. I appreciate naysayers will dive in with bankruptcy and share confiscation kind of BS, but that's already in the price and we're grown ups, we know the risks.

Yea they've got 4x the last dividend price in reserve cash, no way they're going bust.

Though it would be nice to see a price rise, my main frustration with the drop is I didn't listen to my own advice and hold off buying my last bunch, I've spent my reserves now, no bottom feeding money, grrrr. Will just have to be happy with my collection of little Polymetal golden share nuggets ;)

Thanks and hope you didn't loose out any, I'm staying in, my hope it even if sanctions encroach onto POLY, then they will have their hands forced on a Kaz split, they've mooted an update on 21st so will be interested in that and will watch the presentation with interest. At least the BOD are keeping us up to date.

On top of that, they have substantial dividend money sitting in the bank, if they haven't managed to resolve how to pay it this year, even though I would be happy to get one, using it to pay down debt or investment in infrastructure will substantially increase profitability in future years, IMO.

Obviously time will tell what's been going on, but there's a growing trend for 'interested parties' to pick up a business for a cheaper price AFTER administration, sadly.

I'm not holding POG but that would be potentially good news for suffering long holders :)
