I don’t think, although don’t know for sure, that the JV are part of the asset sale. There is a chance that they can get eua1 done and the delay comes with eua 2 because of that reason. Russia has invaded a sovereign nation just two days ago. The assets are held there and there have been sanctions two days running. No one knows the structure of the deal. Any western money may consider de risking. A drop is inevitable. I’m not sure what is corrupt about it.
The price couldn’t hold any positive RNS before hand as no details have ever been released. The latest RNS effectively says nothing has changed. I’m not sure why people thought this was ever going to go back up to pre invasion levels on that RNS. The situation is the definition of uncertainty, markets will, and always have, over reacted to uncertainty.

How could they pen an RNS when the sanctions were released out if uk hours. Also this RNS mentions it not affecting the strategy as announced, unlike yesterdays.

I wouldn’t say no one knew. The West, and particularly the US and UK, have been saying it’s imminent for two weeks. Turns out they were right and everyone else saying it was fear mongering were wrong.

Hopefully the problem now is just time. They will level every sanction available now. Russia can still sell all the metals to the east, Japan have endorsed sanctions, so that side will get complicated. The JV licences haven’t come over yet and Putin could do anything to UK companies including stripping licences. I’m sure the Chinese would take them and carry on the work.
Maybe the buyers are Russian and Chinese and the sale goes through as two fingers up to the west.

You can’t suspend to protect the share price from risk. It’s a free market. People will want to de risk. It’s their choice as it is for people to hold.

Although I have no time for sonic boom boys transparent rubbish, the west have said this time the sanctions would be the furthest reaching. What happened to the share price in 2014 is therefore largely irrelevant as it’s not comparing the same consequence, or potential consequence.

He may do it in retaliation for sanctions but he’s hardly likely to initiate no more foreign investment from the West.

Western investment wouldn’t be allowed if the sanctions they are talking about were fully implemented, why would they care stripping western licences.
As has just been said though, they could announce a deal if it’s all eastern buyers as two fingers up to the west saying we can get by thanks.

The concern would be if no chance of raising capital in London it would need to primary list somewhere else, assuming it still goes forward as a concern after asset sales, but the mention of EUA2 would suggest it is. It would probably be moex, would that cause problems getting money back out for uk investors if Russia retaliated? What about holdings held in isa etc. Not sure but could get messy.
I think all sides will live with an incursion into the disputed zones at worst. Hopefully not even that.

Yeah Bojo has just said he’d make it impossible for Russian companies to rise capital on London markets. Also anything which is strategic to the Russian state, EUA’s JV with Rosgeo would certainly fit. It would be a mess for a bit of time. Still hoping if it all kicks off an incursion would give them an outer over invasion.
