Antelope, that may be the middle ground that this ends up with. Biden already said an incursion wouldn’t be the same as an invasion, sanctions certainly wouldn’t be as severe.
As has been said though, Putin could also make Biden et al look like flappers if he walks away with military exercises.

I know Russian people have the controlling stake. I would imagine Putin could look after those he wanted should they need arise, the money would still be there. When Putin says he’ll retaliate I just can’t see him losing face letting the west earn anything from Russia, bearing in mind any future investment may be prohibited under certain sanctions from the west.
We’ll agree to disagree and hopefully never find out who is correct when it all de escalates next week.

Asset sale proceeds will be divided by stock holders. A large percentage of those holders hold through western brokers, not to mention the last two placings. If a load of Oligarchs get their assets frozen I do not see Putin allowing the value of that asset(s) to go to the west. If he simply strips eua of the licences, he’s got a deal ready to go paid for by western investors.
I fully understand the investment position here and the risk, currently, that goes with it.

Do I think Putin will allow billions to flow back to London if London freeze all Russian money here on sanctions. Not a chance. That’s why there is de risking and pressure on the share price. I remain invested as I believe this will all start sorting itself out next week but to not see the risk here, should Russia go into Ukraine, is odd to say the least.

Russia said they’d retaliate on West sanctions. If those sanctions hit the Russian money in the UK, which the UK government has said is on the table, It’s not a giant leap to see them retaliate against UK listed companies operating there. They can strip the licences from EUA and hand them to any other company originating from where they will sell the PGMs and other metals to.
There will be no repercussions from further investments from the West as they will t be able to do so due to sanctions anyway.
Now I don’t believe this will happen as I think the military exercises will end and a fall back will occur but Russia have said they’d retaliate on economic sanctions and UK listed companies operating there would almost certainly be a target should it get that far.

I think it’s the threat of Putin retaliating against uk listed countries operating in Russia in the event of sanctions that was the point being made. They can sell it all East but that’s no good to investors in EUA if they won’t receive any of the money. That’s why there is pressure on the share price. Looking like it will all start unwinding with military exercises ending next week and can all start moving forwards again, particularly when sky news has some other drama they’ve manufactured for that weeks viewing figures.

This could go either way. Looking like Putin will withdraw saying military exercise, West over reacting, but yes he could still invade. The share price reflects the risk. That is in relation to purchasing shares after the announcement of a special dividend, not in anticipation of one.
In terms of returning the capital to investors, I’m sure PG will retain some to get the remaining projects over the line for whatever projects are left prior to their disposal for further special dividends rather than dilution, but I’m sure he’ll do whatever returns the best for investors, given he’s the largest holder.

If the current share price is not reflective of any deal and people are invested for the asset sale what does it matter what the share price is? I’m not seeing any point of suspension. An asset sale with the amounts released will actually create an orderly market, more so if details of EUAV2 is released at the same time. The only way I see this suspending is if the price starts shooting off prior to RNS releases, as in, a leak.

If DLA Piper, Absolute Precision, UBS, Wardell Armstrong could tell the bod to carry out what they actually say in a time frame they suggest or don’t suggest it at all that would also suffice. Not just for the flaky investors but it must hamper all the one dimensional ramping with no balance.

I fully understand that the resources will be required at some point. But we don’t know who’s buying or how it’s being financed. Western leaders are saying sanctions will be more wide reaching than last time and nothing is off the table. What if parts of the deal include finance or any other partnership. That could easily lead to a delay with the amounts of money involved.
Financing, however, may not be coming from the west and the buyers may not be western, and the deal may not be materially impacted by any conflict, should it even happen, we don’t know but to say you don’t get the argument at all is pretty blinkered.

You don’t understand how wide ranging economic sanctions which may include the flow of money in and out of Russia may impact the selling of assets, potentially to international buyers, which are in Russia?
I understand the degree to which it may or may not affect it depending on the buyers, finance for any deal etc will be different for individual investors, but to not understand the argument, really?

At a guess I’d say it’s because EUA haven’t taken the licences yet. The question for me is why haven’t the licences come across yet. The raise was in September.

If EUA are selling enough to require shareholder approval they will need to release jorc or shareholders won’t know if it’s a good deal and in turn how to vote. So for me, it’s either not substantially all of the assets or if it is there will have to be some detail, probably jorc, so shareholders can cast an informed vote.
The way the structure is around where the shares are held I did think that they held enough for Pis not to matter but they were quite proactive in getting Pis votes at the previous GM.
