The most pleasing aspect for me, as well as contract win of course, is what the contract is for - “Renewable Energy”
Right place, right time, and whilst a lot of oil services companies are still ploughing the same old furrow PFC are building up valuable expertise and experience in what is the future of energy, hopefully going on to become one of the major players, especially if they can build on relationships with the likes of Hitachi.

been a long and VERY arduous hold, many times questioning what you’re doing, buying more on dips, seeing even those buys plummet, until you end up being more exposed than you intended, running from the wife, and generally wondering where it’s all going to end.

If ever proof was needed about professional traders getting news before PI’s etc and leaks this is it - accounts for the very sudden 6% rise yesterday from apparently nowhere. Hope at least some of the shorters got well and truly singed!

True, however,
Preferred Bidder Stage means the period starting at the date of notice to a Qualifying Bidder that it has been selected as Preferred Bidder and ending at the date of notice to the Preferred Bidder that it has been become the Successful Bidder.
Suppose can be a bit confusing, but I for one take it as very positive in any event

is the bidder who is selected by the vendor, usually to some predetermined criteria, as being the party to whom it intends to sell the business, or award a contract, subject to the completion of negotiations and legal arrangements.

I'm not sure that a single 1.5 billion contract is in the offing - RNS stated "Pipeline includes bids submitted of US$5.5 billion, and a further US$1.5 billion where we are at preferred bidder stage" - I take that to mean bidS for contractS worth 1.5 billion not one single contract.
Agree don't think this will happen anytime immediately, but if March comes and goes without news of contract lands I will be v. disappointed that's for sure

Can anyone spread some light on the dealings with Pendal Group these last few days worth of RNS’s?
One minute it ‘appears’ they increase holdings, the next they ‘decrease’ back to where they were!

Had a closer look at price since Astaris started reducing and what I said earlier is load of old tosh (to be honest)!
Before the 13th the price was circa 76.5p. On the 13th went up to circa 84p (when they reduced from 1.08 to 0.75), and to circa 89p on the 16th (when they reduced again to 0.54).
Soooo - why are we back down again today to 83p? I dunno, can't work any of it out!

.... on earth Astaris have managed to cut their short, twice in the last few days, without raising the price is beyond me - they are now down from 0.75 to 0.54%, and overall since the beginning of the month from 1.08%, and STILL the price has dropped!

Agree Redhead/Poker, not a bid but shorters scrambling for the exit, the higher the rise the more the scramble, hopefully a virtuous circle created.

As soon as announcement was made about him moving to PFC it went through my mind that it was precursor to join up

Just logged in again to shorteurope and now it IS showing the positions we all thought it should be, aligned with short tracker.
Looking at today's trading albeit only on HL 1 day chart, anyone else think it looks as though someone is closing out v. gradually?
Price rose steadily this am to high of about 74.8, then controlled drop back down to around 73p mark, followed by another more gradual rise into close.
Hoping so; don't think we'll see them completely out, used as hedging for some of these guys, but boy would it be nice to see at least Kairos, who were late to the party, get squished with a nice fat contract land!

Strange that gems, shortracker still has 3.9% shorts, with Astaris increasing slightly on the 30th Dec back to where they were on 22nd Dec at 1.11%.
Not only buys showing as sells and sells showing as buys, don't seem to be able to rely on anything stock market related - despite various governments trying to encourage PI's to invest in stockmarket, how can you when the playing field is totally slanted in favour of the big 'players', and I use the word 'players' on purpose!

Gems - gets even more interesting that link to Shorteurope the more you delve. The amounts some of these guys earn is eye watering, (GLG seem especially prolific).
In the United Kingdom summary for 26/12/2022 Worldquant are listed as having no short in Petrofac, whether that means they've dropped below 0.5% like Poker says is probably correct.
Also, looks like Systemica and Kairos still have some work to do to come out with any meaningful gain. GLG shown as having made circa £128million out of their short - 'kin hell!!

How do you 'know' that WorldQuant closed today. I did notice a sharp short rise in share price yesterday afternoon about 1.30'ish, but today?

Totally correct crl - They've even managed to decrease the share price whilst reducing!
Know exactly what they're doing and how to do it. Only thing that could upset their little game is for a nice juicy contract to land, and then, auf wiedersehn. The sooner the better.
