S’afternoon will be interesting to see if Qube and Astaris try to keep lid on price. They can only do this by increasing shorts again by small amounts, and try to control price, risky old business ‘cos at some point they’re gonna have to call it a day, hopefully by surprise RNS -fingers crossed

Any close above 67.4p today and both Qube and Astaris will be losing money on their increased shorts 26th

Agree confluence, pretty much normal for new CEO’s to buy into their new company and would like to see him put his hand in his pocket. It would certainly instil a bit of much needed confidence ( together with new contract win!)

I have placed limit orders at 10% and 15% below current ask so that if the MM’s drop price to take out stop losses I pick up more shares nice and cheap.
Some on here seem to be waiting till price meets their ave. purchase price and then want out, and I certainly can’t blame them after all the angst, but I really believe by end of 2024 price will be into £3 range, give or take, and after waiting so long a bit more patience will see a 3 bagger here, whence I will take profit only and hold for longer term.
They are in the right place at right time with right people, in renewable energy space.

Think you may have that wrong way round confluence, for shorts to close they need to buy.

Not sure it’s PI’s selling darkknight, the shorters are still in control here ( at least until 7am), and the last thing they want to see is momentum going into end of day’s trading.
They’ll do their best to make sure any rise is controlled very slowly

Really is time something was done about these hedge fund traders.
For eg:
looking at Qube’s history on shorteurope, from 12/4 shows them as having pocketed £360k. (Short Start Price 72.65, End Price 63.05p)
(did they also get heads up on the news on 11th?)
13/4 SP 63.05p EP 64.95p - loss of £67.4k
20/4 SP 64.95p EP 66.90p - loss of £74.3k
24/4 SP 66.90p EP 67.40p - loss of £21.1k
They’re going to keep banging away till they are satisfied.
Whether they are working in conjunction with each other who the heck knows?
Need another good contract, only way to sort them out.

I’m no expert by any means fishslice but it’s a good question, which I can’t answer.
Suffice it to say though that if buys matched sells exactly,as you say, there would be equilibrium and the price could not move, either way.
I think it’s a question of terminology, when people say there are more buyers than sellers for eg I believe that is, like you say, wrong.
Supply/demand logic dictates that when there are more buyers than sellers the price should rise.
Could an explanation be that the MM is meeting the excess buy orders from their own inventory?
The machinations of the stock market are beyond me that’s for sure

Think of it another way Fishslicer, it probably is a shorter who is closing, the shares having already been sold.
That’s the positive way to look at it, unless of course you want to ‘project’ your negative view?
Although Millenium have increased , slightly, Astaris have been reducing.
