"I continue to believe that Petrofac is on the way back and whilst they emphasise it is a 2023 recovery there are green shoots in 2H 2022. Indeed, Petrofac and Hitachi Energy, a market and technology leader in transmission, distribution and grid automation solutions, have entered into a collaboration to provide joint grid integration and associated infrastructure to support the rapidly growing offshore wind market, a market we all know is full of growth.
I expect more contract news with gains across the board but as one perspicacious analyst put it at the meeting, not just winning numbers but bidding work that will make money. Indeed in the E&C division the pipeline is of the order of $53bn, split $14bn:$39bn this year and next.
The shares have been all over the place running up by 60p in April and May and has lost 40p of that this last month. I remain totally convinced that the lack of investment in oil and gas in recent years that has mainly caused this latest hike will have to be reversed and Petrofac will be amongst those benefiting from the change

Reckon might be a big seller waiting in the wings, so mm pushing price down to encourage a bit of buying- still that’s for the HTG holders to worry about

If it was JUST Pfc dropping then ok but like you say it’s the whole market, and it’s been threatening for a drop for a while now-is this it?-who knows?
Use the drops to top up. If you’re not happy to do that, then just sit and cry into your tea, if you’re not happy with that, take the loss and ask yourselves-should I be in stocks and shares at all ?

(Backhanders to secure contracts in the ME was (and still is) par for the course-some find ways round it better than others is all, and don’t forget PFC was not found guilty of anything at all substantial.

So, closing price 149.6p and you felt ‘lucky’ to ‘get out’ at 152p - that’s a whole ‘lot’ of money you saved, about £158 quid on a £10,000 sale, less brokerage!
I hope you manage to get back in mate at lower price, but what’s the point in trying to time these small moves?

…. how companies buy large quantities of shares without affecting the price too much, I have, even though it’s pretty much obvious when you think about it. Normally you only see the ‘aggregated’ volume of shares purchased but following a look at the detailed purchases by Merrill Lynch on behalf of Carnival yesterday it is clearly illustrated, INCLUDING, the now infamous “1” share purchase
-anyone interested take a look at Vox markets RNS 12/5/22 at 08:00 whereby Carnival purchased 226,000 shares at max price of £10.46 and min price of £9.66
There are literally hundreds of purchases every few seconds/minutes including amounts as small as 1, 2, 3 shares up to about 813

Very much with you Adamsk, can’t really understand this day to day bothering with bits of ups and downs, and trying to ‘trade’ this share. Stay calm, take a break, have a kit-kat, this is a share to hold, min. 2 years, then take a look and see how well you’ve done!

Holding here and bought on previous dips, but lately spreading my bets and putting money into VanEck Hydrogen Economy ETF, top 10 include ITM, plug power, Ballard, bloom energy, Fuel Cell Energy, Linde etc
Like any new (newish) technology there will be winners and losers, this way I’m happy de-risking a bit. GLA

This is a solid share with a solid future and I’m perfectly happy, taking advantage of adding shares on this drop

Think I’m with you on invasion, however IF it happens and they target Oligarchs with close ties to Putin, then Abramovich would surely be high on the list, but how that would work who knows?

On reflection Colonel ignore a) , but still accepting it wasn’t AA or any other director, as bearhunter said, how are you so certain it was Schroders reducing.
That may indeed be the case, but how do you know that for certain?

Not disputing what you’re saying Colonel, but a) what oil price sell off are you referring to (all I can see is that the POO has done nothing but increase), and b) why are you so sure Schroders have gone below 14% ?
(Agree entirely with the merits of investment in PFC, I have been holder since 2016 and now have a significant part of my ISA in the company)
