Anybody else notice the date on the latest RNS from FIL regarding holdings - odd or not?

Read with interest @JO regarding pre-market trading, and I'm not sure about the picture you present.

As far as I am aware anybody can take part in pre-market by placing limit orders before market opens, say the night before. You do then face the risk, in rapid price movements, of your limit order not being fulfilled, and quite how you would use the limit order to your advantage as a strategy I'm not so sure.

Institutional investors placing orders before the main market opens have their orders processed at the market opening, with trades executed at the next available price, the price, being determined by the aggregate of all orders, including MOO orders.

That being said I'm not convinced that the II's execute at 'better' price than retail investors, other than discounts on volume etc., however I will bow down to your, most probably, superior knowledge on this.

@Sufcessex - You can always email your broker and ask them if they lend out shares. AJ Bell say they don't, and neither does Hargreaves, but take your point

Think if you check back to 26th Feb post "hence the +40p not being breached. If can get above 40p today hopefully momentum will take over and further rise due."

I then made mention of price getting close but not breaching a couple of times since

JO called it on 24th Feb, far as I can tell (and be bothered to look), only 2 days earlier.

Nobody is in it for any prizes on this @ice, but like I say, and hats off to our very good poster JO, it has been blindingly obvious since then that the price was being held to below 40p.

Maybe wind your neck in a bit Ice, find your posts very informative (otherwise), and you are definately one of the best posters on here, but no need for "No one likes a hindsight merchant. 👍"

Difficult to answer but it's been blindingly obvious that the share price is being kept below 40p for weeks now. As soon as it has got anywhere near the 40 you only have to look at the algos bringing it back down.

Who chooses the figure and exactly how it is controlled is one of the many dark jiggery pokeries of the current stock market. Use to be donkey's years ago that more buys than sells mean't price rises and vice versa - these days with swaps, derivatives, high frequency trading it's been reduced to gambling den and the 'wolf packs of wall street' lot

What is it about 40p? Can't seem to break it, as soon as we get close the bots bring it back down

Surely a stop loss is absolutely no use whatsoever for shorters - they WANT the price to fall, if news is good (for us) they HAVE to buy to close out. If news is bad (for us) they're winners?

I don't think that they have any leaks with Wood group at the moment, which isn't to say I believe they don't, on occasion, 'acquire' such info.

She never comments on any of the successes, but always concentrates on the poor investments, and I think probably a lot of us have that tendency too.

Only place I won't invest is AIM market, now that truly is a den of thieves, and that's just the directors.

To keep her 'down' I have largest investment with SMIF, monthly income fund which has also seen some (small) capital growth, currently yielding 8.78% to boot.

Much better off here setting limit buys about 10-15% below the Ask (long as your views are long)

You're talking to grown ups here. I think everyone who posts on here is well aware of the risks, or opportunities, concerned with Wood Group. You've obviously chosen which side of the fence to sit on , the risk side as it were, and others have chosen their side, the opportunity side. Nobody needs you to repeatedly sing "c'mon over to my place" like a bunch of Jehovah's witnesses always trying to convince others that they are right and you are wrong, when, more'n likely, they're really looking for some sort of validation.

We know we have our rampers, de-rampers, guessers, hopers, no-hopers, sensible types, non-sensible types, etc etc etc, but we're all aware that there are risks here - as is the case with ALL shares!

Lighten up mate, climb down from your bandstand, get to the pub and have a laugh at all the suckers who you say can't see they're going to lose all their wonga!!
