Also @ Dark, and please realise I'm no expert at all on this, but my feeling is that with that particular RNS Sidara are hedging their bets - which - indicates to me that they may be tabling an offer that they possibly believe is not goung to be acceptable to WG.

The simple fact remains that to close a short you must buy back the shares borrowed and return to lender.

With these CFD trades, Sidara are agreeing to exchange the difference in price of the chosen asset (WG here) from when the position is opened to when it is closed.

By short-selling CFD, you open a position to 'sell' the asset.

CFD trading is very risky, and best left to the experts.

Bot action seems to be a bit on the short side (no pun intended) today compared to previous. Most of the action coming from PI's, which won't affect price. Big guys taken final positions and like the rest of us just watching the paint dry?

Obviously James, but I could have sworn you said it would stop at 40p 'until news', not "with news about to land later this week or next week".

Apologies - should have clarified, these figures were at 4th March 2025, when price of WG was at 40.36p, so losses, especially for MW and TRS, will be even greater.

How accurate this is I can't fully vouch for (but can post link for verification of source) :

And for the umpteenth time @bearded, it's ALL speculation at the moment; every post that has been put up for 'discussion' has been pure speculation, and will continue to be until news is out!

The reason I personally 'speculated' that one of the shorting companies has perhaps reduced a little today is that the price has held up well, over the 40p for the last few days, which it has struggled for weeks to do , and there must be a reason for that.

The last reported short positions held, showed TRS reducing (14th March), perhaps either they or another company has followed up; perhaps someone reduced their short slightly yesterday, we won't find out till shortracker is updated.

It remains to be seen, and we won't have long to wait to see whether my little speculation for today is right or wrong.

What difference that makes is neither here nor there - hands up, it's just more speculation, and everyone is entitled.

I think in your research you forgot maybe that Qinetiq 'GmbH' (yes they have offices in Germany) are already involved in the German defence Industry - including development and testing of Rheinmetall Delta B15 drone, and with Hensoldt in Germany for UAE's, and as you know Rheinmetall is Germany's biggest defence contractor.

US Armed Forces Europe is also a customer, and QQ Germany has a 10 year deal with the Bundeswehr for Aerial Training services.

That makes us, IMHO, in with a shout for a portion of the increased spending touted, how much who's to know atm?

You're right @Bigw, thanks. I can never understand these TR1 forms, for all they purport to be a clarity on holdings etc. they are pretty much confusing to say the least - especially to me!
