People will disagree but with so much hanging over HUR, largely unsubstantiated due to what many including me consider to be appalling communications from the company, the current SP is understandable if not (hopefully) justified. I include in that the exit of AS with immediate effect just before results and an important presentation, and an offload that may (or may not) be of a significantly different magnitude than expected despite communications being promised in the event of material variations.
The CMD presentation should provide much needed clarification on many if not all of issues that concern us. Sadly that is a month away, so we are likely to wallow around until then in the absence of other significant news. In the meantime I am seriously stopping watching this share closely as it is taking over my life and I think the lives of others on this board. Whatever will be will be as the great philosopher Doris Day once said.

Naturally. Nothing will survive a rout like this. Best just to get a few bottles of gin in, don't switch on the news and look again after this has settled. The MMs and traders latch on this sort of situation to exaggerate price movements and make money. Nothing we punters can do really.

Just got back in and quite excited to see the SP > 15p. If you'd told me 3 months ago this would be the case I would have assumed there must have been a share split along the way or catastrophically bad news. Neither of which is the case.

The media loves the pandemic story. It sells content (nearly gave my age away there by saying it sells papers!). The MMs love coronavirus, it gives them an excuse to move prices/ PoO several percent a day - big movements = big money, doesn't matter which way. Pis are just passengers really.
I'll wager that in 6 months no one will remember how to even spell coronavirus, and by then its remaining effect on markets etc will be negligible or non existent. Every cloud has a silver lining - if the US economy falters significantly maybe we could see the end of Trump as he cant crow about it then ?

Bit surprised by this slight from one of the relatively few posters on this board I respect, though everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion.
I didn't say Revenue is meaningless, I was implying the Revenue by isolation is. Just as there are 'x numbers of other companies with no incoming revenue whatsoever' there are also ' y' amount of companies with shedloads of revenue that are irreversible basket cases. We are lucky (!!) with HUR that we have growing revenue (PoO allowing) and a low cost base. That's why I am still here.

Agree with that. Revenue by itself is pretty meaningless. For me profit is the only realistic comparative.
A business can reduce its prices to below cost. It will no doubt increase revenue, possibly spectacularly, but wont make a profit

Do these people realise that they are so widely filtered on this board now that they are spending their precious time composing their daft mean spirited messages but hardly anyone (except the more argumentative of posters) are actually reading them. I suggest they get lives

The depressing thing is that I have to make a £3.5k capital loss between now and 5th April to avoid breaching my gains exemption for 2019/20 in my non ISA account. Yep, HUR is my only candidate! I have a s104 carrying cost of 29p in my non ISA HUR holdings so wont be hard! Would like to sell at a price meaning I have made a profit on my latest purchases (14.6p & 16.8p), if only for psychological reasons.

Just hope it doesn't cause another round of trauma on the board when detractors start analysing what the offload was and whether that means HUR are/aren't producing 2000 bopd etc etc yadda yadda! Good to see the Petroatlantic on the way, eta before midday 25th. Shame PoO has slipped for this offload but variations in that will always occur throughout production so no worries from me.

Re PoO, it is temporarily depressed due to Coronavirus, but I do not believe that will be a long term influence on it. Neither will scary Greta. The worlds economy is still predominately oil based. It will rebound, especially considering what we hear about shale.
I am beginning to think the best approach is stay with my not inconsiderable investment (Yep, a small top up today) and try to ignore it. If its going to f*ck up its going to f*ck up. If not then I can treat the daughters (and myself)
