Spo bottomed out at 47p (2/10) since we have seen a 36% rise on stock o/hang being cleared and Mr Griffiths sudden interest. Of course the "margin of safety" has disappeared as sp and nav are in line and the stock should now start to reflect the underlying value and trade more in line with average pe ratios of the sector, last time I looked it was near 20x.Toppy for sure but the 50dma is within sight (78p) and a positive trading update should see the sp back over 70p.

I checked he has 18.5m (near 5%) stake in Blinx.

Richard Griffiths and controlled undertakings has upped stake to 13m (6%) seems he can see value.I last heard he had an interest in Blinx.Spo shares given a new lease of life lets hope update strikes a positive note.Sads was awful!

Trading updates this wk from WH and Lad should be better as last Q results have been in their favour.Sportech update normally in early Nov.Last yr reported "in line with expectations" sp at 87.5p.If no guidance on f/yr figs or same as last yr were looking at ebita of 12.7p giving us a pe of 4.7× and you can still buy 68p of asset val for 53/54p.The sp is predicting dire winds ahead.....we shall see.They have not been granted leave to appeal yet, but a formality surely? Us poor shareholders must keep the shysters in an oysters and champagne lifestyle a little while longer.

I note Aviva plc have upped their stake in Sportech to 10.9m shares as of 7/10/14.

Blue2quit couldnt agree more co gotta be worth a min of £8 per shr but im afraid 715p now will prove irresistable to many whether Wilmar will now make an opportunistic bid at nearer £8 we'll see.So for the moment am waiting may put off decision till finalised. Let my other dogs run a bit!.

Both Peel Hunt and Investec brokers have reiterated their Buy ratings on Sportech to 84p and 110p respectively, a long way north of where we are presently!.Next week will be decision time re vat appeal, cant understand the delay unless someone has moved the goal posts? Ref loading/unloading who knows as most at mid price there is a reason why some trades are reg in black but I cant remember the reason, seems silly to me there either buys or sells or perhaps they want to disguise their position.....who knows?......maybe an rns shortly?.

Agreed but no volume no value. Either way your buying 68p.of assets for 52p (may be a touch less this year) which is never bad, I like getting more for my money than I'm paying.As WB says "buy the business not the stock"whether in whole or part and good things will happen.What happened to Spo falling from 78p to 47p was not rational it was non-sensical.Buying 68p for 52p is a hell of a lot better than 78p and therefore the greater potential for reward with less risk.We are lucky that the market throws up bargains now and again, too many times I have paid over the odds chasing "hot stocks"..............no more!

Saw the Trade Bruce.........good price must have helped your avc! Had a bad wk what with Spo and NBPO but im invested in both so not trading and in for the long haul.In Spo case seems like forever and tbh its been a disappointing investment over the years, all about to change.In my defence for holding so long ive always averaged down(I know lots say if your aving down your initial investment was wrong)....dont agree!.We need the board to make a decision on this vat farce and pronto, whats taking them so long? No doubt the shysters are on the clock!.
