Hi Bruce saw the Tyr spike up (12%) every little helps decided against investing mainly because of fundamentals at present and even if I fancied them couldnt afford to buy a meaningful amount (£10k), probably my loss.Am researching driverless cars as the next very very big thing in stocks not the cars but the software that runs them, 10 years down the road they may be everywhere? Sorry, but they were over 10p a few months back granted down from 6ish recently. But this applies to many AIM stocks as I'm sure you know.I read the TT & BOOM boards seems at TT there looking at 2-3p as an entry point? Hard to catch the bottom of a stock! If it got down there I might sling a K at it. I read a couple of posts say the stock is difficult to buy? If so getting out could be a problem! Any views? Ill look at Mirada a new name to me. JL.

Yea, have a ridiculously small holding inherited from an aunt (split 6 ways I think) never my kind of stock. Not too keen on ftse 100 stocks perhaps that's why I'm skint most of the time. I Keep an eye out on audioboom and tyra. I do like GVC's nos if I had some spare cash id def be invested. Making money I hope! JL.

Have to say nothing on earth would tempt me back in for all the reasons so eloquently posted here. The shops, dull and mostly empty apart from the lunatics on the bandits are an awful advertisement for the co, at least PP get that right! Just a reminder that we have not yet been granted leave to appeal the vat ruling of last Sept. On Nov 5th, Spo submitted a notice and application to the Court of Appeal for permission to to appeal the judges ruling.This follows the decision of the Upper Tribunal to refuse application to appeal.The judge commented that the Court of Appeal should be invited to CONSIDER WHETHER TO HEAR THE APPEAL. So were not even in the appeal court yet! and may not even get in front of the judge.Who said the law is an ass?

The acid test ratio tells you whether cos can meet short term debt (without having to sell inventory) ie have enough assets to cover immediate short term liabilities. Cos with a nos less than 1 should be a RED FLAG to investors. A value of 2 indicates no short term problems, SPO number is 2.5.

Thought id have a quick look at the roce nos for Gaming/leisure cos. SPO (12.4%) LAD (14.6) PADDY (54%) WH (15.5%) GVC (24.5%) RANK (9.9%) GALA (7.3%) 32RED (85%). Obvious standouts are 32Red as ebita is 50% of total assets GVC ebita 19% and PADDY 32% respectively giving those 3 cos high roce nos allied ( to low debts as a % of total assets) gives them superior returns on cap employed. The cos with loweat curr liabilities are 32RED , GVC, and SPO the highest WH followed by GALA , PADDY and LAD. The 3 cos I like are GVC for its all round excellent nos, 32RED for ebita 50% of assets and SPO for global reach and US presence and ok nos.

They cashed out raising £27.8m gross, equivalent to 70p when the sp was 85p quite a discount somebody got there! particularly as the sp rose to 87 by weeks close.Looked very good (after the vat debacle in early Sept) but they weren't to know that.Confident we wll be passed 70p shortly.

Spo got off to a good start closing at 91.5p a 12% rise.The only news of note waa Scientific Games selling 39.7m shares their 20% holding in Spo, the lock up agreement had ended.The holding was probably placed with HG? Repeat that this month and Spo will be in the 80p's and a great start to 2015. Jan '14 saw both the ftse and all share falling 3.5% over the month, the Dow 5%!
