GVC love paying hefty dividends yielding 8% as it generates huge cash from up front payments and probably runs on a free cash flow basis or very near! Limits the company in acquistions......though Sportingbet should do for now and that all share deal has hugely added to the sp since then. Something Sportech has been slow to achieve since SG way back as the sp tells us on a daily basis. Holders are praying that a t/o or merger is imminent as I feel we have for too long rested on the Pools cash conversion down to the bottom line. Im not as gloomy as some as our US operations are set fair.Now if we could ramp up the Pools/fixed odds football betting on line over there the top line would be transformed! If we can't do it maybe somebody else Wynn?

Hi Bruce, agree such a % is unusual and they have been such persistent buyers! Holding nigh on 59m shares valued at circa £38m paying no dividend? To have such a holding in a co with a mrkt cap of £134m they must know/suspect moves are afoot! Else they will have some explaining to do to their fund investors. Hmmm........obvious attractions for a bidder at this low price, but who? Methinks it will come from the US, Ladbrokes have zero credibility and only WH have the firepower for a knockout blow of over £225m.

Sorry HG holdings are 27.99% but no doubt they will reach the 29.99%........then what?

I see HG have been at it again, adding a further 220k shares in Spo, now holding 57.73m (29.99%). Curiouser and curiouser! I'm down £900 in 3 wks a hefty % to boot but still feel fairly relaxed and will be adopting my 'masterly inactivity' strategy for sometime to come!
