Looks like Hemmings has been off loading more stock as the co's roots to Liverpool have been severed he sees little point in holding shares in Spo mrk ii. Decision on the comp int claim by Looks might get a result in Nov but where in the queue Spo are I don't know.

I think the FDA approvals will take some considerable time even if they went for the quicker route (510K) it's poss to get through in 3 months.......maybe? However like the automatic set up for P it's years away, perhaps 19/20 and the cash required to set up in US will be substantial. If we are part of a bigger set up (having proven the viability of P) there would be little problem and that is the only way we're ever crossing the pond. Incidentally RW said there would not be any update on sales outside of the statutory dates. They would only announce a sale if it was in a new country/territory. My gut feeling is we will become part of some Euro medical Co whose priorities may not be the US in the short term, wanting to become the dominant player throughout Europe before attempting the US market. That said a funding round looks on the cards in Sept to take us through 18 and two years of sales. Thereafter who knows what opportunities might come our way if we are still independent. Among hospitals/critical care units our tie up with Philips might be a huge plus for Sphere in recognising the quality of Proxima. Today's news has elicited zero buys and little volume probably because pis do not understand the benefits of being associated with a huge outfit like Philips. Tbh I don't myself outside of a perception/sentiment viewpoint. Will Philips insist on their equipment displaying the P data? If so then a P4 will have to be in use so why bother with Philips? Get the data from P4. I'm obviously missing something here.

Ok.... the one point RW stressed was the automatic set up of P (5?) which had been requested by those nurses who have been using the device. He said that was the ultimate aim for P but would be 2-3 years away and would require significant extra cash if we are unable to finance it ourselves. Also the current children mrkt is for 3 year old and above due to tubing being too large for the neonates. This is in hand. Think those two points were news to me, the rest has been covered by Rencks in prev presentations. On the subject of patents he did say the co were reserving some secret stuff they did not want to divulge at present. Oh yea on one of the slides the addressable European market for P4 was c £130m.

Remember when the news came out about connecting to the Hospital main frames for patient data etc,...did sfa for the sp. Seems this is going the same way. No doubt it increases the standing for P being associated with Philips so one would hope that sales would eventually pick up/increase due to this. Were back to 8.75 so looks to be another dullish day. I'm heartened by the news for several reasons not least the association aspect but never expect the market to view these announcements in a positive light. They never have so what's diff this time?

On increase in Proxima compatability with Philips systems.

Worth noting the 'good Doctor' had his share options topped up in 3/16 by 1.000.000 shares adding to the 1.320.000 shares granted back in 15 at 27. The recent grant at 16 (the sp at the time was 12.75) vests in 4/19. Those (27) options are likely to lapse though Rencken is praying they do not. The total nos of co options was.... last time I looked 11.67m. I guess if one has a mill at 16 that may partly explain not buying in the market if you believe you will eventually exercise them!

Often a 'good' stock will continue to be good in the future. Whether this applies to a 'bad' stock I'm not sure. But reading of the RSI index (a method of checking overbought/sold stocks) which oscillates between 0-100, a no over 70 is considered overbought/over valued and a no below 30 oversold/cheap. Sphere's no is 61 so pretty much in the normal range of 30-70. Not sure if this means anything owing to the low vols / volatility of the stock. Until newsflow improves our RSI (relative strength index / momentum & speed of price changes) might remain in that 'normal' band which I guess is reassuring. As to how the nos are calculated? There is a complicated formula for doing this calculation which I sure don't have the patience or will to do. Might be worth keeping an eye on as to over/under position.
